It's HERE!
17 March 2024
Been binging since i found this program - & realized that it wasn't a dream! Guess really i am still a newbie but i have & do watch LOTS of true crime shows lately. Getting kind of numb to the similar stories over & over. Only time i'd perk up is when a scenario would involve phenotyping & genetic genealogy - all of that DNA stuff that we've been waiting for forever! I have been DREAMING of a program like this! Lol meanwhile it was already HERE! I've already binged what i had missed!

Ps what's so bad about Nancy Grace?! One of my pet peeves is narrators who are monotonous. She is certainly not that!

Pss think maybe that Nancy is wearing hot pink eyeliner underneath which probably looks way cooler irl. At least i hope so bc if not she's likely very sick.

This prequel is #1!
31 January 2024
Rarely do this sorry not a review, i'm actually watching this movie now & i just love it so much & it's so fun to watch & here i am! Sorry. Ashamed to admit that i never realized until today that it was a prequel to Raider's! Article also mentioned how this is the only film in the series where the military ISN'T "the enemy". Imo Mr Ford & Ms Capshaw's chemistry is HUGE but it's the romantic COMEDY type. Ke Huy Quan had terrific chemistry with everyone! Action, intrigue, romance, comedy, car chases, even enthralling song & dance numbers aka this flick has IT ALL! Lol look no further! PLUS i bet that both Harrison Ford & Kate Capshaw were like at the height of their attractiveness. Especially Mr Ford. Had to be said. Also this movie easily stands alone. I've seen it several times but i am still mesmerized from beginning to end - never one boring second! The part when they jump out of the plane on a life raft is still about the MOST EXCITING scene of any film that i've ever perused! I still scream with Willie! So if you actually read this, you are incredibly patient & kind! TY for tolerating my run on sentences.

Laramie: Stage Stop (1959)
Season 1, Episode 1
9/10
Sorry but i had to tell someone ..
14 July 2023
Sorry not a review - just a comment. Lol i'm alone & feel compelled to share my stupidity with someone .. who better than Laramie fans?! No good reason why but i had never watched Laramie. Happened to see a still shot of the boy (Andy) starring in the series & thought "that looks like Mark McCain from the Rifleman!" .. let the idiocy commence! Instead of immediately checking IMDb for Laramie, i watched this first episode - & drove myself INSANE - "that IS Mark! No way, it's not. Wait, weren't Laramie & the Rifleman filmed around the same time? Was he acting in both?! But i watched Johnny Crawford grow up on the Rifleman - did he do Laramie after that?? Hmmn .. same hair, same voice, same face - almost." FINALLY i thought to check Laramie cast (Andy - Robert Crawford) NAH that's not him, omG i STILL didn't put it all together! UGH! So this is reminding me of an episode of Bewitched starring a boy who seemed just like Jerry Mathers (the Beav) but it was actually his little brother James ... OOOOOHHH!! .. don't worry, even "i" cannot believe how dumb i can be. Anyhoo, i did watch the episode, thought it was great & i will be binging the series now!

Ps Pretty sure that one big reason i was sure it had to be Johnny Crawford on Laramie was because he was such a wonderful young actor, surely there couldn't be two?? But there were! His name is Robert Crawford & he was a terrific actor too!

The Virginian: Duel at Shiloh (1963)
Season 1, Episode 15
10/10
i'm SO GLAD!
1 July 2023
Sorry not really a review. So probably like most ppl here, i've watched the Virginian many times over many years. I can't believe this is an episode that i've never seen! I'm guessing that before today, i must've read that this episode centered on Steve - i would've passed. He has simply never been "my cup of tea" i guess. I've tried, i WANT to like him but the writers make him act like such a sniveling irrationally angry pud .. i really have tried. Reason i'm finally perusing it now is that the description mentioned BRIAN KEITH - one of my childhood heroes & crushes! (SO jealous of Buffy!) Mr Keith is worth every bit of Steve's pity party pouting emitting from his giant head that's far too big for his scrawny little body with the perpetually balled up fists. Sorry. Point is - so very glad i finally watched it! Always did sort of wonder where the heck Steve came from?! Never did actually wonder how he became good with a gun & learned all those necessary cowboy tricks but now i'm glad i know & watching the process with the lovely Brian Keith made it wonderfully entertaining!

BONUS: pleasantly surprised to realize that this episode seems to have helped me understand Steve & his issues, lol i'm not becoming irritated with him nearly as often - & that's allowing me to enjoy episodes that i've been avoiding for years! Again, SORRY for submitting only a comment, if i could find a better venue then i'd surely cease annoying you. All. 😘

Came to appreciate another reviewer!
2 April 2023
Sorry not a review but don't know where else to express an opinion? I read a lot of these reviews but never feel competent to write one. Sharing a great review that's complete & hopefully with any extra info about the film & it's actors or directors or just anything that pertains to the movie .. i'm sure even an average review is the result of tons of research! .. Anyway, considering the volume of reviews that i read (any movie or series i peruse urges me to check the reviews & i watch a lot of old movies) i must be somewhat qualified to review the reviewers? Really all that i came to share is a couple sentences but for some reason i had to find 600+ words in order to submit. Yeah that's the reason for my scintillating comments so far. Sorry. Ok so the first review that i read for this film was by "hitchcockthelegend" & it's truly imo GREAT! The story is properly covered plus there's tons of that extra information that i enjoy so much! It's a longer review yet i found every bit of it interesting & informative. The description that crosses my mind is "well rounded". No doubt you've heard the expression "if you only read one of these (reviews) - this is the one you should read!" .. i am completely aware that i am not a writer & usually i wouldn't embarrass myself this way but i just thought that the review i'm speaking of is worth the shame! Considering that i really am not easily impressed i feel compelled to share & celebrate when i finally am! Thank you so much if this actually is printed!

Didn't realize how much i missed Kung Fu!
1 April 2023
Ok, not really a review - but i don't feel bad bc there is a terrific review already posted. Watched this series faithfully as a kid. It truly enhanced my life! I wanted to be Caine & tried to emulate him. Each episode went by too quickly so to extend my Kung Fu fix i'd read Proverbs in my Bible. .. now i'm watching again after all these years. This episode is especially awesome with all of those Carradines! At that time i had no idea who James Griffith aka Purdy the assay guy was. Now i recognize him from Gunsmoke, the Ghost & Mrs Muir etc but i'd never seen him look the way he did in this episode - playing a tough guy to boot! I actually recognized him from his eyes! I have no doubt that there are many great guest stars to come! This also is an important episode bc it manages to provide a lot of information in less than an hour - 43 minutes actually. Appreciate this opportunity to comment even though it's supposed to be a review - sorry.

Gunsmoke: The Lady (1965)

This episode has it all!
29 March 2023
(Younger man with reason why fist fight shouldn't happen)

Ray Pate: "i've got 20 years on him!"

Jud Briar: "mister - you're gonna need every one of them!"

Umm - that's all i wanted to say - but 444 words short - guess i'll wing it ... Ok, so this is one of my very favorite Gunsmoke episodes! Truly think the above exchange that i typed should be enough to make anyone want to see this episode - it's the best line imo!

*HALFWAY HOME*

See - i'm thinking that there are usually plenty of people writing proper reviews, not like they need one from me too, right?

*YAY UNDER 50 WORDS LEFT!*

i ADORE RG Armstrong - simply AWESOME that he headlined this episode AND played a super cool great guy! Beautiful Katherine Ross was excellent as an immature spoiled brat turned possible murderess! Really an unusual plot & i've perused a LOT of westerns! .. Well maybe THIS is kind of funny - now i realize that there could never be ENOUGH words to express how fun & entertaining this episode is! ACK just watch it - you'll see what i mean!

Talk about deceiving appearances! Bundy AND Zac Efron!
7 March 2023
Wow LOTS of reviews! That's wonderful bc it kind of absolves me from typing a true review, really only here to comment. Don't usually do this but i felt compelled to bc of Zac Efron. Always thought he was a cute kid & enjoyed the "teenage" type of movies that he starred in. But not really an AC-TOR. .. i've seen all of the documentary type films ab Ted Bundy. Another fascinated female - but no - certainly i found Bundy attractive yet knowing exactly what he did is a real turn off for me. GEEZ! No, i'm unfortunately fascinated by ALL serial killers & voraciously read & watch most anything available ab them. I will admit to being MORE mystified by Bundy bc he was good looking. He could easily get sex, so i just want to know WHY?!? Don't we all?? .. so i watched this movie, expecting to be majorly disappointed. Within minutes i forgot ab Zac Efron - he WAS Bundy! Contrary to some other reviewers, i think Zac looked DISTURBINGLY like Bundy. Near the end, when clips are shown of Bundy "playing it up" for the media - i even got a little confused as to which was the actual footage. Duh - no doubt why they included those clips. Mr Efron did a superb job of interpreting Ted Bundy & i could not be more impressed! He got "the look" perfectly - the somewhat cocky look always in Bundy's eyes. Whatever the circumstances, Mr Efron obviously understood how Bundy would act & having seen the real Bundy react to different emotions i feel that Zac got it exactly right! So - even though this is a fictionalized version of the true story, each time that Bundy was the subject i was stunned ab how realistic it/he was. Because of Zac Efron. WHO KNEW??! I'm quite sure that Mr Efron will never read my useless input but this wasn't meant as a "love letter". It's more like an apology letter. Right now would be the perfect time for me to suddenly become witty & amusing - lol ALAS - the only words of wisdom that i can attribute are simply DO NOT judge a book by its cover! You will regret it & worst case, you'll find yourself humbly typing an apology to a guy who will never know that you exist! OmG! When did i become so ... OLD?!?

GEEZ!!
1 December 2022
Finally! Reading these reviews, i thought maybe i stumbled into the "if i speak like i write then i'm a complete moron. Not really here bc films interest me but contributing makes me feel smart & important!" ... but it's okay, after the first two we run into normal ppl submitting normal reviews. At least the next two are good - figured i'd better quit while ahead! ... um well, i'm quite finished but guess not done bc this "review is too short". Didn't even know it was possible? Okay one hundred and two more words. .. wow, when i pay attention - seems like everybody used to smoke in movies! Crazy.

This is too a good episode!
16 November 2022
Don't share here often & when i do it's just a comment. Like now. Guess i can admit that Roger Ewing wasn't exactly my favorite actor on Gunsmoke but when 100% of the (2) reviews here are so unfavorable towards Mr Ewing it caused me to do a 180! Geez! If my calculations are correct, Roger was around 24 yrs old for this filming. Literally a KID! While i'm certainly nothing close to being an expert - much UNlike my (2) fellow reviewers - maybe i'd say that Mr Ewing's acting may have been a little "wooden". Still, (especially considering that the episode revolved around Thad, a 24yr old kid) i felt that Roger did a pretty damn good job. GREAT even! I feel a little better that those other (2) reviewers didn't stop at trashing Roger Ewing. We were also schooled on subjects such as plot & poor writing & issues that Gunsmoke episodes often stumbled over ETC .. o yes, at least one (of the 2) reviewers mentioned that basically William Shatner is not a good actor. At least that opinion was spot on! .. well, except for the fact that even now at 91yrs old he's still in demand as an actor & author & director & musician & producer .. hmn .. maybe NOT such a poor actor? Kinda obvious that more than a few ppl like him - why else would he still be around?! .. anyhoo. I know. Not everyone is going to love every episode. We all have our own opinions & have the right to express them! Yes! I'm in! .. it's just that, when i read reviews like those (2) aforementioned - i just felt like they both stopped in & pooped on the entire episode. Again - opinions - everyone entitled - except when you give the impression that you not only disliked this episode but not even overly impressed with the entire Gunsmoke series .. well why on earth are you even here?! .. ok, i'm sorry - lol probably getting way too emotional about some ancient Gunsmoke episodes but after perusing such (2) rotten & disappointing reviews i felt absolutely compelled to drop in & stick up for one of my favorite go to warm fuzzies programs that i still watch daily whenever possible! GUNSMOKE RULES! 🤘🏻🤠

Worth the watch
25 October 2022
Ok this isn't my favorite episode but i could never pass up a show with Strother Martin and Warren Oates TOGETHER! With a little Shug Fisher thrown in! Mr Martin & Mr Oates are honestly my two favorite western actors - can't decide between them! Tbh i FF to their scenes - they were as terrific together as i expected, even better! Also i just read that this was Mr Fishers first time on Gunsmoke! Actually preferred him on the Beverly Hillbillies but always great to see him! Definitely an episode worth watching, even though the theme is pretty dumb. Lol enjoy! Umm okayy? Can't submit review, it's "too short". Didn't even know that was a thing? Ok guess i'm caught up now, bye!

Great movie for the "warm fuzzies"!
19 October 2022
So i was just thinking, you'd have to write a pretty lousy review for me to give a thumbs down 👎🏻 .. maybe if someone were just ignorant & rude? Mostly I sincerely appreciate anyone making the effort! Even if i don't agree with some comments, that's no reason for the 👎🏻 - just bc we disagree? .. so i recently read that Mr Tracy wanted Katherine Hepburn but it was thought that their great romance irl would take away from the movie or some such. Got like an instant POOF of jealousy - would've been soo great! Love them together! Etc - but wait i LOVE this movie! Love Ellie! Love Joan Bennett as Ellie! Wouldn't change a thing!!

.. sorry but if you wanted an actual review, you should read the others - they're all very good! : )

Lame comment ab great movie 🍿
15 June 2022
So excited when i became aware of this movie! Adored mega talented Stephen King, especially as a kid with time to read. Johnny Depp is an absolutely terrific actor. This movie proves both of those opinions! So i'm simply not very smart & there's no way that i can review this story w/o somehow giving away the ending. Since i've always considered ruining someone's movie experience is a horrible thing to do, just want to say one thing: this is one of those (very) rare movies that i'd be THRILLED to see again ... for the FIRST TIME. I rewatch movies all the time & never mind that i know the ending - that's prolly why i'm watching it again. But this movie, the ending IS the movie! Lol it's what makes it all worth it! Only saying bc actually rewatching right now & having so much trouble getting into it that i'm here reading reviews. If you haven't seen this movie yet, i envy you - TRULY.

Thrilling to see Doc SHINE!
3 June 2022
Wow "gary" left a wonderful review - absolutely perfect! Good, now i can just comment. ; ) So i'm on a Gunsmoke binge watch & i skipped over this episode as usual - kinda with attitude. Realized i don't even know WHY anymore. ... ok just watched it - lol THAT'S why! It ALWAYS makes me cry! & when i'm not sobbing (or there's a part with the family :/ ) - i'm grinning so hard it hurts my cheeks! Wish i could find the words ... tbh my husband recently passed & i'm in no mood for "romance", that's not it. Maybe a combination? Like "true pure unconditional love". What it's not is that sorta "icky sticky let's F!" - i mean, no cheap thrills. Whatever it is, it's absolutely lovely. However you feel as you peruse this episode - consider that the words i'm searching for! : )

Fun to see stars - before they were!
25 May 2022
Sorry but all i can think as i'm watching this episode is "omgosh they're soo young!" According to Google, our star was 29, Warren Oates a very baby faced 31 & Michael Landon only 23! Appropriate since he was playing a 22 yr old! Luckily there's already a review posted here (such as it is) so there's no need for mine. Think maybe i get such a kick out of seeing some favorite actors when they're probably just starting out - i kind of lose sight of the story! But all that it takes for me is to mix Steve McQueen & Victor Jory & Warren Oates & Michael Landon - that's always gonna get a 10/10 from me! Could've used a tad more of Mr Oates to suit me but that's not worth losing a point for! Yes, the ending is completely predictable but i don't think we'd accept anything less!

Isn't Johnny Crawford AMAZING?!
20 May 2022
So there are a couple good reviews here already - & one very sucky one - you'll read what i mean. Anyhoo i only came by bc i am again compelled to mention what an amazing actor Johnny Crawford was. Just watched this episode for the zillionenth time but finally realizing that i kind of took Mark for granted. I mean, he's just a little kid & usually acting with seasoned adults! All of the actors were terrific in this episode but it was as usual Johnny who made me smile & laugh & cry. I don't see how he could've been taught so much so young? Some rare ppl simply seem to be born with huge talent. Lol i'm certainly no expert but really, we all know when something is truly exceptional. I've always adored Lucas McCain - well he IS the Rifleman - wouldn't be a show without him. Maybe bc i'm old, slowing down & paying more attention i dunno ... but imo it's Mark McCain aka Johnny Crawford who makes this series so special & wonderful for me ... & he's the reason that i always come back! Hey if you're reading this, you're obviously incredibly patient & i appreciate you taking the time! Thanx much! ; )

TY for reading in advance ...
19 May 2022
Not a review but there are some great reviews already here - except for the one with the misspellings & crude commentary - you know the one i mean. Anyhoo, felt compelled to come here bc this episode reminded me of what an incredible actor young Johnny Crawford was. Lol i'm getting old now & realize that he's probably one of the best actors i've seen, young OR older. Some ppl just seem to have "IT" when it comes to performing - & Mr Johnny Crawford certainly did! Plus consider the terrific adult actors he worked with & he consistently kept up with them like a seasoned pro! Of course Chuck Conners did his usual great job portraying Lucas & i also enjoyed Dee Thompson as Ma. I recall her playing a masculine woman in an episode of Gunsmoke - can't imagine another actress that could've pulled that off! There aren't too many shows that can make me feel so pleased & somehow comforted to watch. In only 30 minutes i've laughed & cried (really!) - & most of the credit goes to Johnny Crawford. WOW what an amazing kid! I consider it a privilege to have witnessed it! TY MUCH if you've taken the time to read this non review! ; )

In praise of Carolyn Craig
12 April 2022
Sorry just a comment but there are plenty of great reviews already posted here anyways. This is my first ever viewing of this movie! Just surprising bc I'm old. Anyhoo it was driving me nuts ... WHO (aka Carolyn Craig) is the girl playing Lacey?! Aargh she looks soo familiar but not from something major i don't think? ... finally remembered - it was a 1958 episode of the Rifleman, only the third of the very first season! She played Ann Bard, a young neighbor of Lucas McCain & love interest of Will Fulton aka Michael Landon. Her character was just adorable but her part was really quite brief. Guess that's why I'm compelled to share this. I still clearly recall her from this kind of obscure Rifleman episode and that's ALL. She obviously made a big impression on me! So the sad part is that i basically came here to sing her praises but when i researched her the news was not so good. Basically she went on to marry & divorce twice, she became deeply depressed. She shot & killed herself at the age of 36. OmG she was a BABY! Nothing but tragic. Huge loss - GIANT.

This episode doesn't deserve a review - but here's a comment
16 March 2022
Ok first i realized that Dabbs Greer aka Brett (this episode's troublemaker) was also the town merchant Mr Jonas on Gunsmoke. It must've been his voice that finally clued me because when he aged, he looked completely different to me. Guess now that i'm paying more attention & recalling what he looked like when he was younger - wow he sure did play a lot of rabble rouser big mouthed idiots, didn't he?! Problem is, every time i see him playing a character like Brett I think "Reverend Alden (Little House on the Prarie) would never act that way!" lol kinda ruins the experience for me.

Love Lucas but this episode is lame
16 March 2022
Love this show a lot. But came here to do something I've never done: complain about the plot. Hard to believe this is only the second season, seems the writers were really reaching. Not even going to go into detail - you either see my point or not. I was actually still watching this episode as i was thinking about coming here to express my disappointment. Then came the (approx ten second) gunfight. Seeing awesome Lucas in action - even if it is for the dumbest scenario i couldn't even imagine - made sitting through the first 90% of this ridiculous episode kinda worth it. But sorry to say, just barely. Guess it doesn't help that i always seem to abhor John Anderson in any part he plays - but that must just prove that he was a great actor. ? Ok sorry, Ms Congeniality: signing off.

First episode is my favorite episode
9 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Sorry only here to comment. Haven't seen Little House in a long time. Soon as I realized which episode this was, i was thrilled! This is one of those rare times when a heartwarming story is told & brilliant actors played the characters and the ending is.just perfect! I'm a very recent widow & i'm in search of wonderful programs that might distract me from mourning for a while. I've perused this episode more than i can count but still, every single time it nears the end when Charles's tiny daughters rush in to help their Pa ... OMGOSH then the town's menfolk all gather & finish the job in time for Charles to save his necessary oxen ... sorry, yes, every time my heart just swells & i muse that this must be how the Grinch felt after he gave Christmas back to Hooville! So if ever you need a feel good scenario that will make your heart simply burst with joy, this should be your first stop!

Just a comment: what an actress!
8 March 2022
Unless i'm mistaken - stranger things have happened - so i did the math & Rebecca Snipe aka Sherry Rhodes irl was only SIXTEEN years old at the time of this episode! Googled her bc she looked so familiar. I read that she was a popular child actress but i probably recall her from her work from the'70's & on. Anyway, can't get over how poised & mature she was in this episode! Maybe i DID do the math wrong ...

Are there still a few good men?
8 March 2022
Saw this series long ago. Never before noticed that "Mr Cole" who agreed to do the countdown for the duel is actor Glenn Strange aka Sam the bartender on Gunsmoke! Did yinz know he was 6'5"?! I knew he was a tall man but wow! Kinda funny seeing such a skinny little Jack Elam but he did his usual good job at being creepy! I think the real star of this episode is (barely seen) Mark! If only for a minute, he reminds us that ugly things like HATE & BIGOTRY aren't something that we're born with, it has to be learned. What's more beautiful than a child who hasn't been taught to be evil? To have innocent unconditional love for everyone - as God intended. Isn't that something we should all strive for? ... Sorry, guess i REALLY digressed this time. Anyway. This episode simply lifted my spirits. There must still be at least a few men left like the count-Freddie & Lucas McCain, right? Otherwise i'd think HE would've wiped us out by now. I dunno, it somehow gives me hope. ... ... btw if anyone does come across an (older) man like Lucas McCain, please lemme know? Ok, thanks!
