The Andy Griffith Show: Opie the Birdman (1963)
Opie Cares A Lot
Opie realizes what he did was against his father's request. Opie becomes a surrogate mother in the meantime. Andy is great at teasing Barney about birds talking and later fish. This episode is great in the way Andy constantly picked at Barney about animal sounds.
The Andy Griffith Show: A Visit to Barney Fife (1967)
Blabbermouth Barney
Again, Barney let's his mouth run wild. Even as a guest on the show he was his old self. Andy saves the day for Barney again as in older shows. The premise had gotten kind of old by now.
The Andy Griffith Show: A New Doctor in Town (1966)
The Dr. Makes Good
As usual, everyone is skeptical when a new doctor comes to town. Andy, in particular, seems as if he'd rather have Opie suffer from pain rather than let the Dr. Remove his tonsils. Helen steps in and puts her foot down and is furious with Andy. The story ends well as it always does.
The Andy Griffith Show: Look Paw, I'm Dancing (1966)
Floyd must be 100 years old
He remembers how Andy wasn't good at dancing too. What is Floyd, about 100 years old? Seems he remembers everything that Andy did as a kid. Floyd can only think of old dance music, not the new dances of 1966. Andy is doing the best he can as a dad and getting Opie to go to the dance.
The Andy Griffith Show: Andy and Helen Have Their Day (1964)
Barney was at his best as a pest in this episode
This episode was very good, especially with all of the perfectly timed interruptions from Barney. This showed Barney as he was supposed to be, a pest with the best intentions.
The Andy Griffith Show: Class Reunion (1963)
The color episodes had a class of '48 reunion.
This episode is just ok. It's certainly shows there wasn't much continuity in the series. Later, in the color episodes Andy and Barney go to a class of '48 reunion. (huh?). Thelma Lou comes back, married. Hmmm.
Airport (1970)
Fabulous Movie
Seems as if most of the supporting cast of Dragnet was cast in this movie. Dragnet 1967 ended in 1970. At least a dozen actors from Dragnet appear in the movie. Having these actors in the film actually made the storyline more realistic.
