South Park: Back to the Cold War (2022)
Season 25, Episode 4
10/10
One of the best new episodes. Matt and Trey painted a masterpiece here in 2022.
28 March 2022
Kids here's your masterpiece of South Park art.

Brilliant writing that's engaging and incredibly well thought. Paired with stunning old school South Park humor/comedy that is unmatched, while retaining brillance.. The South Park balance and recipe that produces some of the best episodes. Period.

This is one of the those political episodes that will stand the test of time and always be rewatchable. The 80s references and mocking and so much more without spoiling is really platinum tier. Most political episodes I find can fall short of rewatch value due to current events weighing so heavily vs past events, but south park has produced a good handful of episodes that don't fall into that. This is one of them. A good example is "Little bit rock and little bit country" episode, tackling a hot button political issue at the time, but remains relevant and rewatchable today. Then you have some political episodes in the Obama/Trump field that are some great, yes, but most/some falling out of rewatch discussion.

From someone who watched s1 when it aired on tv. - this season has be strong but this episode was a step above from what I've seen lately. It was Trey and Matt showing maturity and brillance while dosing the episode with old school comedy.

Matt and Trey painted a masterpiece here and hope to see more follow suite. The near perfect deliver of old school south park comedy and brilliant writing on hot topics is peak south park.

Awesome-o

I'm blown away its rated so poorly. Matt and Trey Masterpiece.

So many hilarious scenes early middle and end.. Cartman is at his best and the scenes with Kyle are peak South Park. The adventurous plot is fun and the comedy is in prime.

I really find this episode to stand out amongst the other strong ones... Extremely rememberable and doesn't get old. Top tier!

"Satan" at his best and one of greatest plots
3 February 2022
Satan is his peak here and ages like fine wine.

Whenever South Park takes any comedy shot at organized religion the scenes are gold. The side characters featued are amazing, and the boys have some of the most memorable scenes here. The plot is super fun and is extremely rewatchable A great South Park staple that stands out. Fun start to finish and highly recommend it.

Classic South Park, a must watch and strong rewatch episode
3 February 2022
The plot is so funny and the comedy itself is some of the best of early South Park. Start to finish the episode is extremely funny and features some of the most memorable side characters and "city" features! An episode you can rewatch 1000 times and it will never get old. High rewatch value and most watch for memorable moments.

Amazing plot, Cartman at his greatest, ex Presdent Am Gore is PLATINUM comedy and Manbearpig..
2 February 2022
The plot is among the best. Al Gore is one the greatest characters ever and the writing on him is elite tier. Cartman's selfishness and greedness is elite tier and hilarious.. The plot coming together and falling on Cartman and Al Gore is phenomenal.

A super hilarious episode featuring some of the best comedy/writing with amazing characters and the birth of the legendary ManBearPig. I had 9/10, then quickly changed to 10. One of the best.

Old South Park humor in New School South Park environment. Nice!
27 January 2022
I really enjoy this episode. For season 20+ the comedy in this episode reminds me of early s4-14ish with hints of pre season 3.

The new school environment and characters are tasteful and perfectly balanced even for a South Park nerd or passive fan. The comedy is god funny and the plot was engaging in the most non serious way. Great episode and must watch for new episodes.

Season 20, Episode 1
10/10
1st episode to Season 20, rated 10 stars?! Absolutely, read on why..
27 January 2022
As a rose color shaded South Park fanboy... Starting at Season 1 as a kid and growing up with the series.. I've and many others watched the show progress greatly in a lot of different areas, wether for the good or bad. I remember when this episode aired and season 20, I wasn't immediately sold and after the season concluded, I was slightly dissapointed in coming to the finale. Not in the quality of the finale, but arrivale.

This season is UNIQUE big time in that the plot continues from so 1 to end of the season... New to South Park and I don't believe was welcomed and by first watch, wasn't by me.. I think the weekly airing , for a episodic show, but that had. A overarching plot, was to much for fans at first... When we wait so long for a episode and that episode isn't full fledge South Park, and is a epsidoe that gears itself for a whole season, while retaining episodic qualities is tricky...

When going back and watching season 20 in a BINGE session and just going episode after episode.... The comedy/ writing SHINES way more and reveals its geniusy. Lol. Matt and Trey nailed this season... The comedy is progessed to where we are today, and still retains some old.school south park humor in MANY ways.. The over arching plot was actually interesting, when you know you can binge ahead....

This episode was a great testament to being funny and gearing a season to be a full season plot.

Now goimg back and looking at South Park as a library/archive.. Its nice having Treys and Matt's take on a season long plot that was tied to current events.

Now rip me to shreds for my 10 star rating on anything Season 20 lol.

Season 1-3 is special in its own. This episode is pure early South Park with a hint of what to come..
27 January 2022
The comedy is so old school South Park and so is the plot.. It word builds (non seriously) and the pace of comedy and plot is really enjoyable.. I find this episode to stand out more than some of the other early episodes for more of its weight than just pure edgyness... Not to say that's what other early episodes were, because thats not true.. A deserving watch for early 1-3 seasons of South Park.

Strong episode thats a must watch. Very memorable and tons of moments to laugh hard at
27 January 2022
This episode plot rolls at a good pace with its comedy aside. It's early mature South Park humor as I call it lol. The play on words and just hard laugh at moments and while shedding light on a serious subject, while not taking itself overly serious is a master peice of South Park blending.

A gold episode in a gold standard season.. Not to be overlooked! This episode is as best as the rest.
27 January 2022
Cartmandland is a very memorable episode. It's one that has rewatch value and moments to remember. The comedy is balanced with brillance and early south park humur, and a really 'fun' plot. I think Cartmanland can get overshadowed by being in this monstrous jam packed season of greatness but it's one of the greats. The more matured episode out of the season in my eyes! A must watch.

South Park smart edgy comedy at its early best.
27 January 2022
This is peak EARLY South Park. The strategic and smart comedy, blended with some heavy edgyness and raunchyness to it. Near perfect episode from beginning to end. The boys are strong and hilarious and along with the adults.. Mr. Mackey is a treasure and so is Mrs. Chokes.

Also one of Mrs. Chokeson strongest episodes.. Of one.. A early south park treasure of gold this episode is. 8.5-9.

9 or a 10. Introducing Towelie arguably one of the greatest side characters and also being a strong episode.
27 January 2022
The introduction to Towelie is memorable and hilarious. The episode makes it about Towelie is still captures all the magical aspects of a complete South Park episode. I first had it as a 9, if not 9.5... But you know what, why not 10? It's a full complete smart South Park comedy gold episode AND a introductionary episode to freaking Towelie. Classic. Great job to Matt and Trey.

Must watch because Mr.Hankey, but the episode otherwise falls short of 'gold' tier South Park. Still a must watch
27 January 2022
It pains me not rank a Mr. Hankey episode over 7.. The PC babies is my eyes are the worst character/characters introduced, and really just 'weighed' on this episode way to much. Awesome comedy with a strong plot and good writing leads the episode keeping it very enjoyable. Just not one for the books. A must watch at least once for Hankey, but after wards becomes more on the forgettable side compared to other South Park epsiodes. Still must watch if haven't and returning/rewatching anything Mr. Hankey is never a bad bet/ time!

Underrated episode.. A staple South Park episode!
26 January 2022
I was instantly in shock to find this episode lower rated than most!

This is easily a staple of South Park I love any time Matt and Trey can take a sensitive/important/hardhitting topic, and give some takes, make comedy gold out of i (non biasly and agendid), which is one of their biggest strengths imo.

The sattire dark comedy moments here at it's highest and the comedy is strong.

I hate to join the bandwagon, but it's true, this episode arguably the GOAT
26 January 2022
It's like Cornell '77 of the Gratefuldead. It's just PEAK. Everyone loves it, and everyone has said it. It's probably 'cool' and 'edgy'.. to say anything critical vs this episode........ But I can't get my ego around that - This episode captures so much heart and comedy.. Its extremely well paced, actually, I think the BEST paced episode start to finish utilizing each second without over diluting each second.. A important balance. The boys, parents and plot is good.

If your a gamer, welcome to your paradise. If your a non gamer, enjoy this paradise of a episode ripping on gamers. It's amazing. Awesome.

One of the greatest episodes to date..!

Maybe unpopular but I sincerely had this episode in GOAT conversation and stand it next to the best.

A perfect blend of pure comedy gold and intertwined with a serious hot topic. The points expressed in comedic or sobering moments are really spot on and highlights treys and matts unbias smart candid take on issues. This is comedy gold and in my eyes PEAK South Park. The execution and writing of this episode is so engaging and hilarious.

One of the greatest South Park episodes of all time.
26 January 2022
The Losing Edge maybe features the greatest Randy Marsh moments of all time even including up to seasons 24. This episode featuring the boys, parents and distant relatives and balances it all perfectly in comedy gold.. The plot and side plot is EPIC in being funny and engaging. Some of the most memorable moments come from this episode and the pacing is near perfect. Two things that fuel a GOAT South Park episode. Must. Watch. Bottom line.

The bang before the boom. Welcome to South Park.
26 January 2022
2 decades down the road, it's interesting to look back at what was essentially the pilot to South Park. How Trey and Matt would introduce the comedy and characters... - Keeping present, the episode comes out like a bang and your instantly dropped in South Park and the comedy is as pure early South Park as it maybe gets.. The comedy is fun and engaging, leaning strongly on laugh hard/quick moments that engages. The writing is tight and still exploratory, specially for a episode 1 season 1, awesome job Matt and Trey! It's a fun episode that deserves a rewatch/watch even if you seen it and already started with it. It has some great highs, and a decent pace. I wouldn't rank this as a nessacarily 7 if it weren't a pilot episode... But non biaslly, the comedy is worth a rewatch and has Chef . So probably bumps it up 1 or 2 points.

Maybe the GOAT episode of season 1-3. Solid top 10 of all time imo
26 January 2022
Starvin Marvin. Classical South Park at its best and it's jabs at celebrities at best. The comedy is pure earlier South Park that's pacing doesn't drop or hit many bumps. While keeping the Earlier South Park beat, the episode also retains smart comedy and a small appropriate over arching plot that doesn't take it self to serious at any point; How it should be in this episode. An amazing episode and possibly the best earlier episode of South Park. I'd say best of pre season 4 and back. A must watch.

A near perfect blend of amazing acting, with a very strong story/plot, along side consistent strong writing.
25 October 2021
The acting from everyone is just top notch, and of course Joaquin just doing a balls to the walls job A+ on the Joker. The story/plot starts quick and grabs you into to learn more quickly, it stays consistent and strong and in my opinion doesn't lose a single beat. The balance of insanity/mental aspects/ paired with violence/scare is gorgeously divided. The ending is strong as well. A movie that when you watch for the first time it's special, but also has incredible replay value due to amazing actin and script/writing.
