Area 51: The Alien Interview (1997)
Real or not, I really don't know
maybe you want to watch that video yourself Travis and actually listen to the dialogue, it tells what the 'doctors' are doing and why,it also tells why its in near dark and even why the 'aliens' head appears jerky ('like most animals', bit of a strange thing to say when we are talking about a supposed 'alien being'). I'm not saying its real or not because I simply don't know, but your comments were all centered on things that were explained in the video. Watch it again but this time try turning your sound up a notch.
Its certainly thought provoking if nothing else, I really wouldn't like it to be real because I'd hate to think we treated any supposed ET's in the way depicted in the video.
One of the things that did stick in my mind was the special effects guy saying he could do better, but we had already seen his 'creations' in the reconstruction sequences and they looked laughable.
The Bourne Identity (2002)
Read the book ? then forget the film
As a long time reader of Ludlum (the guy who wrote the Jason Bourne Triology) I can only say that this film was a total dissapointment. Only two things seem similar between the book and the film , one is the title and the other is that the plot involves a US agent with amnesia. EVERY other thing has been changed from the name/nationality of the female lead right down to the very reason Jason Bourne existed in the first place.Instead of destroying the plot of an excellent book why did they not give it a different title and sell it out as a run of the mill spy caper. Ludlum would turn in his grave if he saw his intricate plot reduced to this piece of dogmeal. I'll stick with the earlier TV Version at least that tried to give an accurate portrayal of the book in the time they were allowed. No Treadstone 71 plot, no Cain plot, no Carlos plot , No Plottin Good!
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
The best film ever with possible spoiler and gossip
contains possible spoiler and background gossip.. I first saw Clockwork on its UK cinema release , having read the book first gave me an insight into the Russian-English language of the story ( I think it was called Nadsat or something similar). Then horror of horrors, Kubrick ordered its withdrawal from UK cinemas , not for the gangs of youths roaming British streets dressed as their Clockwork 'heroes' but because of death threats he received. Now with his passing , it is back , looking slightly dated but still with the ability to shock. I remember friends that liked the 'first half' but were totally bored by the 'second half' without realising that this second half showed the after effects and retribution to the violence that had gone before. The imagery of this film with its excellent soundtrack are not to be missed , it is a classic but only if you realise the message it conveys. The possible spoiler is the newspaper reports that Alex reads in the hospital where (if I remember rightly) his name is given as Alex Burgess instead of Delarge, gossip is that instead of outfitting Alex and the Droogs as per the book Kubrick reportedly came across a group of strangely dressed youths in Coventry UK and adopted their attire for the film. 10/10
