All Action, Little Plot or Meaning and Sloppy
1 June 2007
Next is about a magician, Chris Johnson, who has the ability to see two minutes into the future, and has found a mystery girl who affects his abilities.

Next is a forgettable, somewhat clichéd, and without much meaning/direction at all. Nicolas Cage is the best actor of the lot, Biel and Moore do above average, and the rest can only pull so much from their bad roles.

If you go for all action, OK special effects, and little thinking, then this is the flick for you.

But do think of this: Do you really want to see a film with an abrupt ending, no real direction/meaning, no explanation for many of the plot elements? The motivations of the terrorists (which spur the whole plot) are unclear, making their part in the script only a plot device, the sole reason they exist.

The movie will have you somewhat entertained for its length, but is (again) forgettable and goes nowhere with clichés and overall average acting.

Fairly Amusing
1 May 2007
A fairly amusing show where Braff's character deals with a co-worker in a new job that had had a thing with his wife in high school. This comedy doesn't bring anything new to the genre, but is a fair watch overall with some interesting elements.

The Good: Appropriate length, Fair acting, Great gag reel (after some credits start rolling), amusing overall, villain is mean, but doesn't cross the line- after all comedies are not about sadistic, truly evil villains. They are usually funny, selfishly misguided people, and Bateman fits the bill perfectly.

The Bad: Too much slapstick humor, had more potential, some scenes were unfocused and with no real purpose.

The Pee Problem Not Really A Problem
10 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
The kid with the extra urethra has a simple solution to his problem: To wear a (appropriately sized) cup around (the head) of his penis. The cup would have a hole connected to tubing that leads to a bottle/bag connected to his leg (probably near his foot). He can regularly empty the container. No mess, no fuss.

I realized this immediately and could not really bring any sympathy for him up since he was a stupid kid with a stupid family with stupid doctors- or maybe just bad writing.

The rest of the characters were not very developed. At all. The actual subjects of the story that the incestuous brother were never revealed, though they may have given us a better understanding of the kid. All they did was hint at the contents- no definite revelations.
