This episode did not feel as good as the first two. Focusing most of its running time on a backstory of two characters that are not relevant later felt unnecessary . I expected one of the two to make it out alive and as such we'd have a backstory for that character and get attached to him as he becomes a part of the cast. But having all of this done simply to relay the message to Joel to protect someone during these difficult times just did not click with me. It could have been easily done in a 10 min backstory, and could pick up right where the episode ended with Joel and Ellie getting all the stuff they need. If i wanted a romance movie i could just go watch one, having such a long story that is not so relevant in the middle of a post-apocalyptic series is just a mood killer, and the thought of it being done simply for an agenda makes it even more disappointing.
I hope the next episode picks up the pace and gives us a good plot just like the first two episodes.
