Mr. Robot: 407 Proxy Authentication Required (2019)
Elliot's rebirth - Mr. Robot S4E7
I trully cannot believe that all the buildup for this moment brought Elliot to such a disastrous place where surprisingly Fernando Vera wants to team up with Elliot in order to take over New York City. This episode was full of suspense, it had a lot of plot twists, like Elliot's gun not working, the reveal of what kind of person was Elliot's father to Elliot and Darlene and many other things that I cannot mention without spoiling the episode more.
In conclusion, I believe this episode deserves this high score and it's definetely comparable with episodes like Ozymandias or Felina from Breaking Bad. I'd say this episode would be in my top 3 or top 5 episodes of all time.
The Sopranos (1999)
What is the life of a mob like?
Rest in peace James Gandolfini, the hero that played Tony Soprano, the protagonist of the series The Sopranos. Tony Soprano along with the New Jersey mob family are going through hard moments every single time, either with police or the New York mob family as we see from the beginning of the show and to be honest, the story felt realistic. I am glad this show inspired a show like Breaking Bad, because The Sopranos, Breaking Bad and The Wire are presenting the mob life the best. I love Tony Soprano and Christopher Moltisanti as characters the most, along with other like Paulie, Silvio, Bobby, Junior, Johnny Sack and many others.
My favorite episodes are: Pine Barrens, The Blue Comet and Long Term Parking. The conclusion is also perfect, truly unexpected to be honest, Made in America, the last episode is also a masterpiece of an ending. I recommend this show to everyone, hope you will enjoy it!
The Godfather (1972)
Iconic and masterpiece
Francis Ford Coppola's first film in the series is still an epic, full of hypnotic acting, which reinvented mafia criminals as players in a dynastic psychodrama. This is by far the best movie ever to give a portrait organized crime, this movie goes deep inside and shows it all inside out. Al Pacino shines above all in this movie, as the smart boy of the family he returns after fighting a war for his country, at that time not involved in the family business, but it doesn't take long before the war breaks and he sees no other ways than to step in and fight for his family; if you watched Scarface and you liked Tony Montana, than you'd like Michael as well. This is a masterpiece and I think everyone would love Don Vito Corleone and Michael Corleone making the story so good.
Gintama (2005)
Gintama° is the peak of Gintama series
This is a parodic anime that has many references towards many other anime, mangas and some other mediums that are not japanese, for example Star Wars. If you wonder why this anime is so loved, it is because you can see everything in it, from comedy to action that can make you even cry. The main cast, Gintoki (the protagonist), Kagura and Shinpachi are incredible, I enjoy every second when I see them on my screen. The side characters are as funny and enjoyable as the main ones. Gintama has the best antagonist cast in shounen anime and Takasugi is just the best shounen antagonist ever.
The first 50 episodes are kinda slow but still enjoyable, in the rest, this show is just a pure masterpiece. Shogun Assasination is the best arc in shounen tied with Chimera Ant arc in my opinion and Gintama is the best anime tied with Hunter x Hunter 2011.
My ranking of the seasons: #1 Gintama° ; #2 Gintama' ; Gintama':Enchousen ; #4 Gintama. ; #5 Gintama ; #6 Gintama Silver Soul Arc ; #7 Gintama: Slip arc.
Breaking Bad (2008)
Best Live Action TV Show ever made
This show has a very complex plot and it is really interesting. I couldn't stop watching this because of how good this is. Walter White and Jesse Pinkman are one of the greatest duos that I've seen, the side cast is great and the antagonists are incredible, an example for the 1st season: Emilio and Krazy-8. The ending is perfect and overall the show is really consistent.
Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu (2011)
LEGO Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu
Well, let's start it. As we should know. This is a sequel to the pilot season. This series start strong and keep itself strong until the very end (ending of these 10 seasons because there is another sequel avaible). I loved the most the season 1, the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. All the seasons were a 9+, excluding the ones I named before where i think they are easily 10/10. The best season is the 5th one, it has a lot of depth, character development, great plot and no flaws, making it an actual masterpiece season, something that isn't very seen in the cartoons; and let's not forget, you're gonna be in a lit of suspense watching this season because it's the darkest one, and of course during the rest as well! I'm very sure if you watched this 10 seasons, you watched the pilot season too, now go and watch the sequel "LEGO Ninjago"!
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Hunter x Hunter
I am saying hi to everyone that sees my review! Now we are talking about Hunter X Hunter, this series that is very loved right now. This is my favorite anime, and the plot and characters are just amazing! First I am not gonna lie, I didn't thought it will be very interesting, a story of Gon Freecs that is trying to become a hunter, but while watching it I liked Gon a lot more than I expected. Gon met Killua, Kurapika and Leorio during the hunter exams, 3 people that are very different in comparation, but all of them are very enjoyable, and the side characters as well.
The story starts good, it looks like a childish anime at the very first episodes but then it gets more and more darker, the plot evolves. The story development gets better and better and every arc is great. My least favorite one is Greed Island (still very enjoyable for me).
Best HxH Arcs: Yorknew City Arc and Chimera Ant Arc are the best arcs in Hunter X Hunter and easily S tier for all shounen. These arcs are very hype, emotional and sometimes tragic. The villains are very good, and you won't be disappointed. The character development that Gon, Killua, Kurapika and the antagonists are showing during these arcs are very memorable. During the Yorknew Arc we learn more about Nen, an energy that every person has, and we learn about even more risky tehniques.
Art is 10/10 for me, the details in their eyes, modes like Kurapika with his Scarlet eyes, etc are on the next level. The art style is nice, very realistic and enjoyable.
Their aura is as well very good drawn, this anime is a good adaptation from the manga (manga is very detailed, the anime as well). Madhouse is the best studio and did the best job.
The character development at the most of important characters in my opinion are very good, but of course there must be bad characters just like in any other show. And it's funny how the best 2 written charactets of this shows are villlains (Meruem, debut in Chimera Ant Arc, Pouf, debut in Chimera Ant Arc, Chrollo, debut in Yorknew City Arc and many more).
The Main 4 is maybe the best anime squad, and I wish we will be able to see them more in the future! My favorite in the main 4 is Killua. Killua is an ex-assasin, he is cool and has a lot of different personality moments. He is sometimes very funny, his cat faces are so random and funny I swear! When Killua gets into a fight, he is serious, and very badass and I like how he almost always win. I like the fact that he changes his outfit in almost every episode compared to other anime characters. Gon Freecs is a basic main character, but he is a good one. He is very funny but he is also a really good friend that supports anytime his friends and people that need help. Even if Leorio didn't have a lot of screen time, he still was one of the best characters in the show. He is funny and just like Gon he cares about his friends and always tries his best to help them. Now the last one is Kurapika, a guy that had one of the most sad backstory. His clan got killed by the Phantom Troupe, and he does his best trying to kill every Phantom Troupe members and to get the eyes of his clan members back.
THE SIDE CHARACTERS: There are a lot of side characters like Hisoka, Chrollo, Netero, Kite, Meruem, etc. The Phantom Troupe is very crazy, and they love to kill anyone for their sake of money and purely love for kill, also known in the very first episodes when the narrator tells us the backstory of Kurapika.
SPOILER VILLAIN: The chimera ants are the villains in the 5th arc, and the chimera ants have a king named Meruem, very smart and the best villain in the entire series. I marked this as a spoiler because it is a new villain and he is shown later in the series.
Sound is 10/10 for me, this anime is easy in top 3 soundtracks. The characters voice actors did a awesome job. Even if this anime has the same opening, it is pretty hype & the endings are the best, they made me hype for the next episode. (except the 4th ending because that was a sad ending). The OST is perfectly made and put in the best moments, never heard a soundtrack in the wrong moment.
In conclusion, I have to thank above all, you Togashi Yoshihiro. You're brilliant. You can make unique characters, outstanding plots. You still go on, and on, in successive hiatus in the manga, and everyone complains a lot (even me), but then what you show to us is so amazing that makes it worth waiting. Thank you for exist and for this awesome masterpiece.
For you that didn't watch it yet, do not be fooled by the first few episodes or with the synopsis. Both of them will give you the impression that you're about to see a generic shounen. Insist. This is a kind of anime that in each episode everything seems to evolve: the story, the setting, the characters. You will be hooked, unable to stop watching .
And then my friend, you will start to feel pain. Yes, pain, when you realize that you're at the 100th episode and there is only 48 episodes left. But when you will finish this 2011 series, you can watch the movies and maybe the 1999 version. And then go read the Dark Continent Arc in the manga! :) And if you want to 'rewatch it' read the entire manga too xD (just kidding you do what you want)!
If you watched Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, One Piece, Gintama or Naruto series I am very sure that you will enjoy the series a lot. This is a S tier shounen and if you enjoyed those i mentioned before, most likely you will enjoy HxH as well!
I don't know how helpful my review is but just give a try to Hunter X Hunter and I hope you'll enjoy!
