Plein soleil (1960)
Alain Delon just did brilliantly like always
I will just say that - French people + mystery + end of film = masterpiece. The only thing that was not understood until the end was who Tom actually was and where he came from, but let's say that the idea is that everyone has to understand that in their own way. Tom is quite an interesting person. It's as if you know him and you get amazed at his every act - from the love side, from the deception side, but at the same time you know almost nothing about his past.
They have shown his character well, Alain Delon himself does a great job with this role. What I love about him is that in almost every role he plays he knows how much he can do and he has the self-confidence that he can do anything and somehow that confidence plus the characters he plays plus his looks all add up to a great character. Self-confidence in the first place, which manages to combine together with other characteristics of the character is something that makes a great impression on him. And in this film he did this job perfectly. I liked that things happened quickly. Incident after incident. You just see how his life as a con man is on a tape as he knows his every next step, but at the same time there is another factor...love which kinda adds up tension.
And of course at the end of the movie it's like a snap of the fingers. It's like you tried to prove yourself right, but there is someone who refutes everything you believe in with solid arguments...things, in a very ordinary way, turned in a completely different direction...
Diaboliquement vôtre (1967)
The wife was such an interesting character...
So the French are masters of mysteries and movies to begin with.
Right from the beginning, it grabs you and you immediately understand that something is wrong, and new and new things that don't have answers are constantly happening somehow quietly and not so visibly, which makes you want to understand more and more what the truth is.
Also, the French people are very good at the end of the movie to make you feel absolutely satisfied and somehow feel the whole movie again. They do it in an extremely simple and elementary way, but at the same time this moment is so key.
The wife made a big impression, because somehow she tried to hide and lie about many things, but again in a very delicate way - there was something with both the butler and Freddy. She lied to Pierre, and at the end we saw her from such a different perspective. She was an extremely mysterious and interesting character in the film and I think she won me over the most.
The movie was very good, it's normal to get a little bored halfway through, but there are moments that make you feel like you're there and you want to find out the truth.
Megan Is Missing (2011)
I HAVEN'T SLEPT
Ok for some people the photos and the girl in the barrel are simply nothing....but I am traumatized!!! I am writing this at 5:43 am and I woke up at 00:00 because I imagened these disturbung things again and again. Anyway the movie is stupid I mean the actions are happenning slow and etc. But...just the idea that the photos are based on real photos is just....
