Black Sails (2014–2017)
10/10
Best TV Show in history of mankind.
4 February 2020
This show is the best ever made. It is so deep and well thought out that after finishing all the seasons, you get an urge to study the history of piracy era. Then you see most of the characters, even ones seemingly irrelevant were in fact representations of real people. Then you decide to watch the show again to catch the details and it's incredible that people actually pulled of such a good job that your very perception of piracy in the Caribbeans will change. This is not a show where pirates roam without any good reason but a show where captains are on the edge with their crew about every decision since the crew also has a risk/reward calculation to decide about. It also includes a lot of strategic decision-making, so much that every single decision made by the characters seem realistic and logical.

Just watch this show and see for yourself.

Joker (I) (2019)
4/10
Do not buy the hype!
5 October 2019
The popularity and the high ratings centered around this movie is due to Heath Ledger's successful portrayal of the Joker character. While Heath's performance was A-Class, it was still somewhat overrated due to his suicide and alleged but never-confirmed gossip about his suicide relating to his portrayal of Joker.

Joaquin Phoenix has been a drama queen and did some weird stuff on TV to regain his lost popularity and therefore people slowly began to see him as an offbeat rogue actor and this allowed him to take on the Joker role.

The movie itself, tries to make profit from Phoenix's cooked up antics by always trying to close in on his face while he is moaning or trying to laugh in an out of the ordinary matter.

Heath Ledger's character was successful but the camera was never too much in his face. His laughter and his aura spread naturally. However in Phoenix's Joker, director Todd Phillips tried to capitalize too much on the hype of Phoenix's real life antics and Heath Ledger's successful Joker performance by always zooming in on Joker's face in a way to force his mentally unstable state upon the viewers rather then letting the viewesr decide for themselves.

On the other hand, the movie is very slow and has unexplainable plot holes. Not recommended.

Reverse Rambo
28 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The production value of this movie matches most of the Hollywood movies including The Hurt's Locker. Explosions and such are so well that I wonder how a Turkish company managed to have such good fx. But when it comes to storytelling, it is worse than B-grade movies. It features mindless Israeli soldiers who fight like first graders with rifles. The storyline itself is filled with many illogical and senseless events. In fact, you leave the cinema thinking that it would have been better if these Turkish Commandos never tried to help the Palestinians as they unwillingly cause hundreds of dead civilians just for the revenge of 9 dead turks. I would also like to note that the amount of dead Israeli soldiers in this whole movie could probably outnumber the real causaulties during some of the lesser scale wars between Israel and Lebanon/Palestine. So in the end, the movie makes no point. It's a Rambo with an eastern setting. We face a movie that can technically outclass half of the Hollywood movies in terms of production quality but is outclassed in terms of art by B-grade direct-to-video movies. I wish they had hired a real writer and director and this could have been a real hit. I give it 5 out of 10 for it's production values only.

Iron Man 2 (2010)
8/10
You will get entertained
8 May 2010
Iron Man 2 is definitely worth the hype it caused. Everything is so fluid and so well implemented that when the movie ends, you will be asking for more. Robert Downey Jr. is as charismatic and funny as he was in the initial movie. Gwyneth Paltrow is sexy and does her part very well. In my opinion, Scarlett Johansson is the weakest link of the cast since you can feel her presence in the movie is only for the hottie-factor. Sam Rockwell steals the show from time to time and is great. Mickey fits the movie really good as the bad guy. The movie will definitely entertain you but it has it's flaws. The anger and hate of Ivan towards Tony Stark is not supported enough by the background story and although I liked all the action scenes, I was expecting more from the final fight between Iron Man and Ivan wearing a giant suit with electrical whiplashes. Overall, the movie is definitely worth seeing. It is worth your every tiny little penny!

Sunshine (2007)
9/10
So deep, so involving until the Religion factor.
2 February 2009
The movie was one of the best movies I've ever seen until the part with Pinbacker. It went so well and I felt so involved in what's going on but after the scene with Pinbacker killing the Japanese female character, the movie lost it's glare. Everything turned into a b-class scary movie. I get the religion factor that has to get in into stuff like this but come on, this Pinbacker character is just out of place . The religion factor could have been better incorporated. Another thing is, although it's thinking too deep, i suppose logically, the garden would probably have the sunshine filtering system we see throughout the movie. Other than that, the movie is really good when it comes to scientific facts. Naked human in space vacuum is well presented.

In the end, I think everyone who wants to see a well done movie, watch 2/3 of this movie. You will see some of the real good instruments that form a good movie. Such as the usage of green and blue all around the interior and then blazing your eyes with sunshine when showing the exterior.

Max Payne (2008)
8/10
This movie is GOOD
26 October 2008
Before I watched the movie, I had no idea about it. I hadn't watch the trailer and I didn't even knew the movie was out. I just enjoyed playing Max Payne so I decided to go see it.

And then, I saw, one of the best game adaptation I've ever seen. The movie doesn't actually just use the storyline, it also uses the theme of the game so well that it felt like watching the ingame scenes. The theme is so well presented that just by looking at the colors of a frame, I could tell that this was related to Max Payne.

The presentation of the city, with all the scattered doors, the snow, the messy people who waste their lives was incredible. The movie is so depressive but it's also really fun to watch. Mark Wahlberg is being accused for being dull but I disagree. I think that his emptiness, his inconsequential and inconspicuous way of acting made me believe that this character had lost all his hope in life and he was only motivated by revenge. In short, he was good. And even the "hot girl" factor that has to be included in every movie for financial reasons was so well incorporated in the Max Payne theme that you would ask yourself if it was also a part of the storyline in the game.

So if you liked the game, just go see this. This movie is immense and it sucks you in. It was one hell of a movie.
