Started Fun, gets stale after awhile
20 August 2023
I got hooked after first few episodes. Mystery Comedy and iconic characters with occasional cringey dialogues.

It follows the same old formula - lead to one suspect and new evidence appears, and turn to new suspect, and repeat.

Some twist in the end. Season 2 follows the same journey and making it so boring.

I like the characters. But the show struggles to offer something new and refreshing to keep me hooked. It also has a lot of fillers and some romance of side characters that has no relevance in the story. Howard's Romance 🤔✨

I saw the ratings on Season 3 is great, I personally havent touched it. Yet.

Re stirring old wounds for more story
26 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
In Last season, Maggie and Negan seemed to have understood each other, and partway with peace.

Yet the first time they met each other they put knives to each others throat. Why? Why would go to that extent if you are not willing to kill someone.

There are some nice plot twists and some bad writing. So it's a mix.

Ginny is a nice character. Kind of a replacement for Lydia.

It's still not clear what happened to Annie after they beat her.

When they raided The Croat's base.. its just bad writing. Just for action and aesthetic sake.

Then when Negan & Croat was holding weapons against each other.

Again. They just do it for suspense. No one had any intentions to shoot another. (Repetitive cliche - same with Negan & Maggie). These scenes started to get boring.

Then Croat literally let Negan walk away.

Most stupid scene... Who thought it would be a good idea to sit on pile on supposedly dead zombies???????

Amaia & Tomasso was 2D characters judt destined to die. They really lack depth.

And the King walker fight scene...??!?!?!! What is this? Dark Souls?

Just one zombie that's alive and that happened to be the king zombie?

The writing just does so much thing for show. Doesnt make much sense. Especially the unecessary tension between Negan & Maggie.

Last time Hershel wanted to take revenge against Negan, now he doesnt anymore... Idek..

Idk.. where's Ezekiel? Where's old people. It just Maggie & Negan. It's like a whole new story with them in it. It doesnt really feel like walking dead.

6/10 and im being generous.

Plot twists based on Plot armor
15 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's nice thriller. The season one has 20 episodes with many "distractions" and the most innocent one turned to be the killer without earlier foreshadowing. It really feels half baked. Especially the logic part. Characters are interesting, but it's bad writing & world building with so many plot holes, many HOW & WHY questions left unanswered or "how could anyone not notice that?". It's just classic directing someone to be the suspicious person, then completely throwing to the other direction.

Like how they weren't able to figure out the culprit alibi was altered earlier. The other plot twists feels forced too. I'm enjoying my time watching this. I feel it could be trimmed because there are so many fillers.

I probably wont recommend watching this.

I dont get the hype. It's pretty mediocre

Warning: Spoilers
Characters are mediocre. Infused with some feminism messaging.

I actually like the character Mark & Omniman. Their relationship and how everything evolves.

There are some plot holes:
  • if omniman were trained to conquer Earth by force, why spent decades protecting it first? Why the sudden change? - this plot twist is baseless
  • If Mark were to assist Omniman as conquerors, why not "groom" him young and early with doctrines & brainwashing of how amazing viltrumites are.. this lack of communication makes Mark unprepared since the "programming" is that he is human, and detached to Viltrumites' agenda
  • Mark took a beating from Lion guy and knocked out after a few hits. Now Omniman hits are definitely stronger & badder, why Mark lasted so long? He could have broken "a few bones" or something. Does the screenwriters just want to display some amount of child violence? I dont think Mark would able to withstand the beatings without dying or passing out.

Other characters like Dupli-kate, Amber, Todd, even Rex seems very 2 dimensional, cartoony, their character is shallow. Not fleshed out enough with fears, motivations.

I tried to enjoy it. But it's so cringe. I really dont get the hype and praises. It's just mediocre at best. Plot Twists are mediocre too.

Underrated but Overrated
14 April 2023
I have really mixed feelings with this one. It started off with a great idea, and just failed miserably in execution.

I enjoyed season 1 years ago so I proceed to watch the season 2. It started really engaging, and then slowly it dies down like being so watered down. It seemed stupid. Like wine being 100% contaminated with blood (pardon the cringy analogy, it really feels like that).

I am invested in the plot, the characters. And many times they have delivered.

I just finished season 2. It started on a good note. Then turned a bit political - which I enjoyed. By the end of the season.. it's just kid's spy action show. Nothing logical... Too much plot armor. The writing seems rushed.

A lot of Human Error "coincidences" randomly happening.

Michele somehow just have teleportation ability that allowed her to be in 3 different places at the same time.

Again for the sake of the plot.

Because main character privileges right?

Rules dont make sense.

Security camera dont make sense.

Gespar doesn't make sense.

Eventually this almost transcend to be a fantasy show because how much plot holes there are.

Did I enjoy this? - yes.. in most moments Did I regret watching this? - no.. Did it satisfy my thriller loving brain? - not even half

I probably would continue to season 3.

It has YOU vibes
26 March 2023
Similar to Tv Show YOU, this is about socio-politics, stalking, and bullying.

The show is engaging, i find myself get hooked with the main character Dong-Eun and soon rooting for her success.

The political aspects to this is not so deep compared to game of thrones its light so requires no deep thinking. Its pretty straightforward.

The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing, acting is decent.

Sometimes the adults act like college kids instead of adults. Their social circle is so small, basically just one friend group from high school, i would imagine they expand their network after highschool but this show didnt have that, maybe to keep the focus on the main characters.

It's not a show I regret watching, and I say that as a compliment.

Cringe & Predictable
24 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I got hooked after the first few episodes.

The cinematography is great but can be cringe at times. A LOT of fillers throughout the season. I think this might fit better as a movie.

Characters are annoying - which serves the purpose. Viewers might get a sense of claustrophobia from small enclosed space.

Some things don't make sense as the main character is a ex military sergeant, he should have more instinct of what's going on, instead he seemed to be more clueless (like a student).

It was an okay watch, if I had known how the experience gonna be, I am not sure If I would watch it all over again.

I set High Expectations and now disappointed
1 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the performance and quirky characters, though the story has a lot of cliches.

The plot twist seemed really random and only happening based on random evidence in final episode without any build up prior.

  • why both the therapist & Xavier failed to explain their innocence? They literally froze when confronted
  • why just Xavier appeared mysteriously at the most random times?

  • why Wednesday confront Thornhill without her friends? (The sirens)
  • why Crackstone left her hanging, not properly finishing his "REVENGE"? (Why not stab in the head)
  • what leads the therapist is following exactly? Why Wednesday, not killed earlier? Like after they kissed? Or when they went to abandoned house?

  • why torture Tyler - the Hyde? When Wednesday has no supernatural self defense ability? He could just transform and devour her?

  • Why Tyler spared Eugene? He's a clear witness? And him being the only survivor?

The Plot is really predictable, except for the random twists.

One thing that bothers me is the amount of strong female characters, and the male characters are kind of weak, agreeble, dumb like Gomez, Tyler, Xavier. In contrast to Bianca, Wednesday, The Principal.

Why Wednesday as someone who doesn't have social media use the term "mansplaining" seems out of character.
