The Investigator: A British Crime Story (2016–2018)

4 minutes documentary stretched to 4 episodes! Awful.

This is not a "documentary" and there is no "investigation". The whole thing is just the account of what happened, without even the details of the original investigation and the way the conviction was possible without finding a body. The guy just writes letters to various people and they reply to him in a fashion you would expect, giving nothing new. The only "twist" of the plot is that the person who was convicted first in a letter accepts the blame for the killing and then retracts it and claims he did it cause his lover left him and he wanted to implicate her to revenge her for that. Total rubbish. Repeats and recaps every 5 minutes in order to make it into 5 episodes! All interviews are not convincing. If you want to know the story, just google it. It will save time. This "documentary" has nothing to add to it.

Brazil (1985)

A true vintage Si-Fi

Its 2002 and this film still looks great. Great design and excellent casting with lots of cameos. In the same category as BladeRunner, this film is here to stay as an prime example of its kind. Fine work from the American Monty Python.

I cannot remember if I have seen a worse movie

I cannot remember if I have seen a worse movie but be sure when I will watch one I will let you now about it. Even if this film won the Thessaloniki film festival award, it did not come without controversy as the public and critics alike disputed it. If you are a Cypriot you can't fail noticing the shift of accent and dialect from scene to scene for no valid reason. Also very cheap ending reminiscence of the beating of a Greek Cypriot (Tasos Isaak) which at the time it was a lot in the news with a pinch of Monty Python (at the place where Horaface knocks his tongue off). The scene at the sea with the horse near the end again reminds me of a video clip that accompanies Cypriot entries to the Eurovision Song Contest. I stayed to the end of the performance because I hoped that it will be so bad, that it will be good. Unfortunately this is not the `Invasion of the Killer Tomatoes'.

Masterpiece of unique proportions

This is a masterpiece of unique proportions. Dennis Potter appears everywhere in the plot through his characters. Amazing soundtrack, a match to the surreal plot! Don't look for answers, just take the trip that Potter suggests and don't miss a single detail. Switch off the light, stop eating popcorn and pay attention to each and every scene. It will reward you.
