I could have gotten more out. I could have gotten more. If I'd just... I don't know.

*Schindler's List* is a profoundly impactful film that delves into one of the darkest chapters of human history with both unflinching honesty and poignant humanity. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the 1993 film is celebrated not only for its harrowing depiction of the Holocaust but also for its compelling portrayal of redemption and moral courage.

The narrative centers on Oskar Schindler, played with complex nuance by Liam Neeson. Initially, Schindler is portrayed as a shrewd and opportunistic businessman, but as the atrocities of the Holocaust unfold, his character undergoes a profound transformation. The film intricately explores his evolution from a profit-driven industrialist to a selfless savior who risks everything to protect his Jewish workers.

Spielberg's direction is both austere and profoundly emotional. The film's black-and-white cinematography enhances its historical authenticity while emphasizing the stark contrasts between life and death. Iconic scenes, such as the hauntingly silent image of a little girl in a red coat amid the chaos, serve as powerful symbols of innocence lost and the stark realities of genocide.

The film's portrayal of the brutal realities of the Holocaust is unflinchingly honest, with scenes that are both difficult to watch and crucial for understanding the magnitude of the tragedy. Spielberg does not shy away from the horror, but he also ensures that the story does not become merely an exercise in depicting suffering; instead, it highlights the remarkable acts of humanity that emerged amidst the devastation.

John Williams' score, featuring a hauntingly beautiful theme, complements the film's tone and emotional depth. The music enhances the narrative without overshadowing it, creating an atmosphere of solemn reflection.

The performances are exceptional, with Neeson's portrayal of Schindler being particularly noteworthy for its depth and evolution. Supporting actors, including Ben Kingsley as Schindler's loyal accountant and Ralph Fiennes as the malevolent Amon Goeth, deliver performances that are both chilling and deeply affecting.

Overall, *Schindler's List* is not just a historical film but a profound exploration of human nature, ethics, and the capacity for both evil and good. It challenges viewers to reflect on the past while emphasizing the enduring power of individual action and compassion in the face of overwhelming darkness.

A Hauntingly Ambiguous Conclusion!
5 August 2024
Sean Penn's The Pledge (2001) is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into the complex nature of obsession and justice. The film, starring Jack Nicholson as Jerry Black, a retired detective, intricately weaves a narrative that leads to a profoundly ambiguous and unsettling conclusion.

At the heart of The Pledge is Jerry Black's relentless quest to solve the murder of a young girl. After promising the victim's parents that he will find the killer, Black becomes consumed by the case. His investigation leads him to Toby, a mentally troubled man played by Benicio del Toro, whom he believes to be the culprit. However, as the story progresses, the film reveals the tragic depths of Black's obsession and the disillusionment that follows.

The film's ambiguous ending is both its strength and its haunting core. As Black's pursuit continues, it becomes clear that his certainty about Toby's guilt is flawed. The true killer's identity remains shrouded in mystery, and the film concludes with an unsettling realization that the pursuit of justice has led Black to a tragic and ironic end. This open-ended conclusion forces viewers to confront the inherent uncertainties in seeking absolute truth and the personal cost of Black's obsession.

Penn's direction ensures that the ambiguity of the ending is not a mere narrative device but a deliberate exploration of existential themes. The lack of a clear resolution underscores the unpredictability of life and the often arbitrary nature of justice. Nicholson's portrayal of Black captures the depth of a man driven to the brink by his own promises and failures, adding layers to the film's exploration of psychological turmoil.

Ultimately, The Pledge is a compelling study of the human condition, wrapped in a narrative that refuses to provide easy answers. Its ambiguous ending challenges viewers to reflect on the nature of justice, obsession, and the fallibility of human judgment, making it a thought-provoking and memorable cinematic experience.

Warning: Spoilers
"This movie doesn't scrape the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn't the bottom of the barrel. This movie isn't below the bottom of the barrel. This movie doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with barrels." These words by Roger Ebert is the exact description of that film. The first half is somehow interesting, but later on things just keep worsening. The sequence is not well defined, and the most exciting part of the movie didn't exceed 10 minutes. Also, cilian murphy just told her that he is going to kill her father , and wow he is a bounty hunter or a paid killer (a very hazardous scenario and he really mentioned that in a bizzare way) The movie didn't meet my expectations at all. If you really want an exciting night, I truly recommend to sleep rather than watching this movie.

Focus on the main point!
8 March 2024
People who believe that this movie should be a biography or just the events of ted's life, you are missing the main idea. This movie mainly shows how manipulative Bundy was. Let's believe for a moment you don't know Bundy, I am sure that for a moment you would fall for one of his tricks. His stubborn and nargastic attitude made the media, press, and even many women fall for Bundy. Bundy's character is one of the most complicated according to many psychologists. Also, the movie shows the shock of his girlfriend and how she was near death from a serial killer.

I would recommend not to see any documentaries before the movie as you would only focus on the events.

Main Point = Bundy's Manipulation and how it affected the world!

A great American story with a Turkish touch
23 November 2023
The series is full of sensational details which I truly felt from the first episode till the last one. In addition, the choosing of the suitable actor was on point. She performes her character in a very unique and cold way. She isn't exaggerating at all so that you would feel that you are watching a real life story not a series.

However, there are some lack of chemistry between the characters, but somehow that wasn't clear much. Also, the American version is better actually, but not to the extent that it would be way more better than the Turkish version. It is an American story with a different unique Turkish touch!

Madness gives us words!
6 November 2023
I picked that movie to watch as it started Gibson and Penn. However, I didn't realize that my mind was about to get blown by that greatness of the movie. A story about a dream, and a true exceptional way of achieving it!

The movie is full heart touching details. Also, I experienced how love and humanity could change the future. Love is identified in thousands of methods and ways. "Madness gives us words" is a sentence that would only be truly understood after you watch and believe all aspects of that great movie!

Finally, the movie is very entertaining and worth watching, and always remember if love........then what?
