Don't (2020)

A Fresh Take on Game Shows

Genuinely entertaining. Doesn't adhere to the traditional type of game show formula, which (if it suits your sense of humor) is a welcomed adjustment! Never been too entertained by game shows (occasional Jeopardy notwithstanding) but this will bring sarcasm and hyperbole and a bit of fourth wall poking fun at the typical, more formulaic shows in this genre. Worth the watch, funny, fresh, the family participants and endearing and Ryan Reynolds's narration is very funny. (I thought I might get tired of it, but nah love!) If you're not stickler for traditional, formulaic stuff, dec give this a go

The Handmaid's Tale (2017–2025)

One if the best series currently on air

Nothing short of fantastic. A 10/10 is rare, but so well deserved.

(Definitely has some graphically painful scenes, so if you have a hard time with that definitely watch with a friend or a binge buddy)

Desperados (2020)

Solid Rom Com

In my opinion, romantic comedies by their very nature can only be so good. The plots are formulaic and rarely take anyone by surprise. That being said, this was a solid romcom. I think its better the the 5/10 stars it's gotten, and it did have a better b-story dynamic than most. If you like a fun romcom now and then, worth the watch.

Heartwarming and entertaining. It surprisingly had one of the best song mashups I've ever heard, the performances were astonishing. The Icelandic pride was so damn touching, itll bring you to tears, no matter where you're from.

Space Force (2020–2022)

I put off giving Space Force a watch because of the negative reception after its initial premier. Its not The Office. If you are expecting that, then that's the only reason I can find for those negative reviews. Its compelling and sincere, it is entertaining and funny, just not in an uproarious way. Loved it. Hope there's a second season.

Hannah Gadsby: Douglas (2020 TV Special)

Terrific. Storytelling at its best

This was fantastic and so well crafted. Undeniably entertaining and clever. Watch it in its entirety to really get the full effect. Unless you are biased against homosexuality or women or science, or perhaps just logic altogether. If that's the case, you'll probably hate it as much as you hate everything else

Trumbo (2015)

Fantastic

An inexplicably delightful film portraying an egregious history of anger and ignorance. I like to think of myself as well read and do go out of my way to learn. But I'm 30 years old and I didn't, to this day, know to which the extent of invasiveness or abuse of power was reigned upon people, let alone celebrities so publicly. We weren't well educated on the details of the red scare in public schools and that is truly disturbing. (Of course there are many other things we weren't taught, specifically in the realm of miscarriages of justice.) This film was well made, acted, written and executed in total. Absolutely recommend.

Uncut Gems (2019)

This movie is, just, pfffttt. A unique flick for sure, and the polarized reviews are definitely understandable. Its hectic, truly anxiety-inducing, heart racing with impending doom. But not like an action movie, it's a more realistic portrayal of walls closing in. Personally, I loved it. What a ride. And Sandler? I wrote him off years ago, but he truly disappears in this role. Hes fantastic. Worth the watch regardless.

This is better than the typical gaggle of Sandler's formulaic comedies. I am almost embarrassed to say I've seen this DOZENS of times. It just got released on netflix and here I am watching it, yet again. God help me, but it is a solid flick.

Brilliant mix of dark comedy, mystery/suspense, drama. Give it a watch for yourself, I can't describe it well enough to do it justice.

Surprisingly Fresh and Funny

This show was not nearly as lame as I assumed it was. I definitely laughed out loud at some point through every episode, and finished the two seasons available on Netflix, in like two days. It is akin to Curb Your Enthusiasm and I recommend it for anyone (so long as profanity doesn't bother ya)!

The Wrong Missy (2020)

This movie is tired, plays on outdated tropes, plots all over the place, honestly it sucks. Another happy madison production created for the sole purpose of taking the happy mad crew to a tropical paradise and being paid to do it. It gets five stars ONLY because Lauren Lapkus is HILARIOUS. its worth the watch for her alone!

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2019)

(Spoiler) Jacqueline had not been a native American. A woman of color should have been used to represent a native American, and despite jenna maroney being FANTASTIC, and that the premise not having been decided when originally casting, it's hard to be totally okay with yet another white lady portraying a WOC. Besides that, one thousand percent recommend!!!

New Girl (2011–2018)

Surprisingly Solid

Watched during pandemic lockdown, and have to give credit where it's due! Didnt anticipate it to be so good. And though I wanted to binge this, I watched over a few weeks and it really was awesome. Bummed I dont have any more to watch! Probably going to join the select few I have in rotation for rewatching. Give it a shot
