The Help (2011)
Some Wonderful Acting
I liked this movie but I agree with Viola Davis that it did not seem to capture how these black women really felt about what they were going through day to day, and wasn't that the whole point? It told some of their personal horror stories, but needed to be delved into much deeper and that simply wasn't done. I thought that both Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer were brilliant and Oscar winners for sure and happy that at least Octavia won. It was wonderful to see Cicely Tyson also who never disappoints. I was very disappointed in Sissy Spacek's performance. Overact much? I was also not impressed with Emma Stone or Bryce Dallas Howard's performances, they were just okay to me. I want to watch it again though, so that is a big plus.
Mayday: I'm the Problem (2012)
I Knew One Of The Passengers
I saw this recently. I worked with Shawn Addington in the Bay Area. She was such a beautiful and kind woman. I didn't realize what I was watching at first and was horrified to learn the details of what she and her fellow passengers had to endure. God bless them and their loved ones and condolences for their loss. At least several federal laws were passed after the crash, including a law that required immediate seizure of all airline and airport employee credentials after an employee's termination, resignation or retirement from an airline or airport position, and a policy was also implemented stipulating that all airline flight crew and airport employees had to also be subjected to the same security measures as all airline passengers are.

I'm Loving This
Don't recall this one, but I'm loving it. Clint Eastwood so young and pretty.,,:-). We get to see him without a shirt and that is really all I need, and some good close ups of that beautiful face. And the play between Clint and Eric Fleming is so funny and cute. Plus, you can't go wrong with Warren Oates as Weed and then Wishbone taking sides. I just wish I had the capability to tape it and watch it on occasion to remind me of the true art of entertainment without political correctness and lack of good taste and morals zapping the life out of this once true art form.
For some reason not related to an honest review, I am forced to add a few more characters....oops, just went over.
Road to Paloma (2014)
Kept Me Interested
Just caught the last half of this movie and I found it to be quite good. All the characters made me forget they were acting. I definitely want to see it from the beginning. Time well spent.
