Seinfeld: The Big Salad (1994)
Elaine Is To Blame
The Big Salad episode is about Elaine thanking George's girlfriend, Julie, for getting her a big salad to go from the diner, even though unbeknownst to Elaine, George is the one who bought it. In typical George fashion, his refusal to let it go damages his relationships with both women.
Perhaps George should have let the whole thing go, but let's look at who's really to blame: Elaine.
After declining to get lunch with George and Judy, Elaine is the one who asks, "How about if you bring me back something?"
At no point during the rest of their interaction does Elaine offer to pay for her own meal. She assumes that George will pay for it, and therein lies the real issue.
Shouldn't you reach for your wallet when you ask someone to buy you something, be it edible or non-edible? Isn't it presumptuous of you to assume the other person will buy it?
Julie shouldn't have taken credit for George's kind gesture; it was a bit naggy for George to try and seek out a 'thank you' from Elaine, and Julie should have apologized to both of them. But Elaine was at fault from the get-go.
It's still a hilarious episode, though.
The Box (2018)
Did Not See That Coming
At first this came off as watered-down horror, but by the end I was thoroughly impressed. If you have four minutes and enjoy 'wtf' moments, then I suggest watching this short horror film.
The Hug (2018)
He Had It Coming
I was on the edge of my seat just enough with this five-minute short. No gore either, which I greatly appreciate. Picture a trip to Chuck-e-Cheese going horribly wrong, but that's okay because the main character is a self-entitled brat. Would have given more stars if it had been a tad bit longer with more character development, although the mom glued to her cellphone does bring it all together.
