Quite Possibly The Best Pilot Ever

The first episode of The Newsroom does an excellent job in every aspect of making a show.

Acting: 10/10 The actors are perfect for their roles. Every person feels like they've been doing their job for years and it sets the tone for what the show is about.

Story: 10/10 The story seamlessly drops us into a chaotic day and makes sure you know every part of what's going on.

Sorkin knocks it out of the park building the backstory of the main characters while showing we're going into uncharted territory. The characters feel so natural in their comfort zones that exploring out of them will be an adventure for everyone.

School Dance (2014)

Possibly the worst movie ever made.

I don't know if it's possible to make a movie worse than this. I don't think there was an actual script. It just seems like Nick Cannon found the least talented people and told them to act as awkward as possible.

Story: 1/10 The main character is obsessed with joining a dance group, or is it the pretty girl in class, or is it he's trying to score at the dance? I can't remember, it's not important anyway.

Acting: 1/10 It's like watching people read mad-libs to each other. It's so bad it's uncomfortable

Cinematography: 1/10 This movie was shot on an iPhone, not a new one either. 2 camera dialogue setup with one camera bipoded and the other handheld. I've seen YouTube videos with better consistency.

Halo (2022– )

This is a bad, bad show

As someone who has an extensive knowledge of the Halo universe, I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on it. This is a generic, entry-level sci-fi story that only got a green light because of the popularity of the source material. I'm all for telling a unique story with familiar characters, but this is some CW level corny writing. Whether you're a fan Halo or not, this will disappoint you.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (2019)

One Star Wars movie to negate all the others. (Spoilers)

In one film, every Star Wars story, legend or prophecy is now null and void. Remember how Anakin and the Skywalker's were supposed to bring balance to the force? Doesn't matter anymore. Remember how Mace Windu and evening Yoda lost to Palpatine? That doesn't matter, Rey is apparently stronger than both. What did Luke, Han, and everyone else die for?

Oh, let's get to Rey and Kylo kissing before he disappears into the force, something everyone can do now apparently, seeing how his mother does the same thing. Seriously...what in the world were they thinking making this film?
