Interesting on one side but also a bit disappointing. They build a case for the afterlife and elder to heaven and hell but they never get around to really dealing with Jesus for salvation. It's a very New Age look at religion. All you need is love. Do good and love. Um, I think the Bible would disagree. We need Jesus for salvation. Yes, he is love but it doesn't matter how nice you are with out a relationship. The movie seems to make it seem all religions lead to the same loving God. They do tough on hellish experience but they vague. The whole movie is vague about how one can go to heaven and those who go to hell. I'm disappointed this is supposed to be a christian movie, but it's not. Religious, yes, but not Christian.

Before the Wrath
(2020)
Much better than I expected.
30 May 2023
I knew of many of the people in the documentary and suspected it would be enjoyable, but it was better than I expected. Very informative, practical and enjoyable. I don't want to give away too much, so I'll just say it's encouraging and reminds us to be focused on Jesus and to be an actively preparing bride until the bridegroom comes back for us as He promise. Jesus said that He was going to prepare a place for us, so we can be with him forever. In Galilean culture that passage was a marriage proposal. That is a fact missed by too many in the church today. Jesus must return for His bride or He isn't the Christ.
The Ark
(2023– )
Pretty good but a bit too dark
13 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
On one side, this is very good but on another, it's too dark. The drama is good but there needs to be more light moments and healthy relationships.
In nearly episode they are in such a bad place the whole ship and crew are going to die.
They may be in danger but geez, do you need be on deaths door for every episode.
The series is basically a humanity has destroyed the Earth and now they need a savior in a man of course. They even have a scene about taking animals on the ark two by two of sorts. While biblically that's not really accurate thanks to long perpetuated teaching, the concept is not missed lol.
Just a few changes would make this a pretty good fairytale science fiction series.

Surprise Me!

Beyond Hallmark cheesy and I like chick flicks
25 August 2022
For a chick flick it could have been much better with some minor changes, but the last scenes ruin the movie. For one, you can easily guess the outcome 30 minutes in. With some minor rewriting, they could've made this pretty cute.
Rome: The World's First Superpower
(2014– )
Pretty Good but had inaccuracies
28 July 2022
In many ways, this is a week done documentary series but I can't get past the first error in the title. It makes me doubt the validity of everything else mentioned. While Time was a superpower, it definitely wasn't the first. Not in any particular order, but Egypt, Babylon, the Medes and the Persians, the Greeks under Alexander the Great, and even the Hittites all preceded the Roman empire. All of these were known as great superpowers who had conquered much if not all of the known world of the day. I understand most people do not no much about the Hittites but they were powerful enough that other major power signed peace treaties with them to avoid going to war with them until internal conflict destroyed them. I mostly mention all of this because if you're going to teach something is history, we need to teach it correctly. Well not as great as some of the other superpowers mentioned above, even the Assyrian empire predated the Roman empire. At least be accurate. I could even handle if you wanted to say that the Roman empire was the greatest superpower ever, even though personally I disagree with that belief.

Fake Christianese movie
3 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If you just want a worldview of religion, and want a cheesy low budget Halmark type movie, then you might like it. If you want a faith based movie to actually be marginally biblical and want at least OK acting, then run. The girl acts Christian, then feels bad about fooling people, admits it and then everyone loves her, but she never actually becomes a believer. She's just sorry for lying, but likes being religious. She never prays to accept Jesus or anything. Unbelievably cheesy.
Fasting
(2017)
Done without prejudice and persuasion.
31 August 2020
I'm a little surprised this only gets a mediocre rating. I know most people see fasting in America as bad and that could be the reason. Anyway, I thought is was fair in presenting different types of fasting, their benefits and even warnings that could arise from abusing fasting. I was even moved by some of the people's stories.
I do recommend this documentary

The Aeronauts
(2019)
Good Fairy tale
22 December 2019
The movie is quite enjoyable as a fairy tale. It's supposed to be based on a true story, but to be politically correct Amazon has rewritten history and turned one of the two main characters to a women. It was two men, not a man and women. There is no need to rewrite history. I'd be annoyed if they make a movie about Amelia Earhart and turned her into a man. It's history. Just do the history.
I'd rated this a 9 if they hadn't lied by saying this is based on true events.
The acting is pretty good and the story line is good and it's fairly clean.

The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn
(1999 TV Movie)
Heartwarming
20 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this movies. Sidney Poitier is always a great actor. Playing a hard working man who has been through some big hurts, and because of these hurts he has separated himself from deep relationships. Yet, at the same time he works hard to help others and people just love him. Though trouble comes when some big city business people who want to take his land to build a shopping center and go after Noah in unfair ways when he won't sell his land. I won't ruin the ending, but it is a special movie in a world of so much heaviness.
The Fix It Boys
(2017)
Cute Kids Movie
11 September 2019
Know your genre. This is a Children's movie, not an adult movie. That said, I found the movie pretty cute and it has great values that is family friendly and Christian friendly. That is refreshing since most movies devalue both.
There actually two stories going on in the movie. One from "Today" with a group of troubled boys on a camping trip and a "Past" story. They both blend together to form a great story showing how having a relationship with Jesus is the greatest treasure anyone can have.
