Sweet Magnolias (2020)
Great Friendships
I eagerly await each 'next' season -- can't wait to see what the "girls" will Pour Out next. I'm most anxious to see who runs for Mayor and takes over to finish the things that were left incomplete by Trevor. I just love Hele, Maddie, and Dana Sue and their honest, no-holds barred friendship.
I can't stand Bill -- Maddie's ex. He's a womanizer and I abhor listening to him talk. He's not a good male role model for any of his children. Time to send this ne'er-do-well packing and his awful sister too.
Love the budding romance between Cal & Maddie.
Ready for Season 4, please and thank you kindly!
Miss Conception (2008)
Cute Romantic Comedy
While I'm not a big fan of romantic comedies, I did find this one to be quite cute. I thought that Tom Ellis and Heather Graham were a good match... especially at the end... and in spite of all the hectic bits. I found the running around by Heather's character, while trying to "find" the perfect donor so she could get pregnant and become a mommy, was funny and yet quite manic... all the while wanting Zak (Ellis) and finally admitting it to herself. Not everyone is going to enjoy this offering... but if you look past the frantic, manic bits... the underlying story is quite cute.
I actually liked seeing Tom Ellis portray a slightly gawky, very shy character ~ who is just adorable when he's standing in front of his girlfriend as he lowers the bouquet of roses ~ and smiles softly and just waves hello.
Isn't It Romantic (2019)
Silly, with a healthy side of cheeky and cheesy
A fun bit of mindless entertainment... featuring an unimpressive Liam Hemsley... until the wedding. I keep forgetting how well Rebel Wilson can sing, until she actually DOES!
I loved her "bit of a vamp, with a side of tramp" at the Karaoke club. While I'm not overly-fond of romcoms, this one was entertaining. I do wish that Tom Ellis had had more screen time though. Just one scene and no mention.
Lucifer: Pilot (2016)
A Devil of a Pilot!
The Devil's left Hell you say? Well he may have left Hell, but he surely brought the "HOT" with him!
Tom Ellis is the epitome of a "class act" as Lucifer Morningstar. From the moment we see his shiny, classic, Black 1962 Corvette being driven on Sunset Blvd., to the upbeat tempo of the music on the radio, if you're like me, you are immediately hooked into what you feel is going to be a VERY wild ride! But, when the Devil opens his mouth to speak? The soothing English accented voice and Lucifer's flawless face captivate you and you are drawn in a little bit more.
The series is filled with great characters one can easily attach, and relate to, features GREAT writing, and some FANTASTIC music selections. Put all this together and you have the makings for an EPIC MASTERPIECE that will bring you back, episode after episode.
Prepare yourself for the BEST SERIES EVER and BUCKLE UP for the GREATEST RIDE you'll ever go on!
Lucifer: The Would-Be Prince of Darkness (2016)
Will the REAL LUCIFER please stand up?
In the middle of a murder investigation of a Hollywood ingenue, and involving up and coming football player Ty Huntley, Lucifer discovers there is someone out there, "ruining the Lucifer brand", and his identity. Upon learning that his "sexual reputation" is taking a hit as well as his personal reputation... Lucifer hires a fixer, Ronnie Hillman, to rectify matters. Oh how the malfeasant reprobate will fall!
When Dr. Linda Martin quips that Lucifer is in denial, he quips in return... No. That's a river in Africa. Great writing ensures yet another bloody well-done episode in a FANTASTIC series!
Love it when Lucifer finally focuses his anger on the one who needs to be punished... and is NOT as innocent as they proclaim to be.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)
My Favourite Series After the Original
In as much as I have thorough enjoyed Law & Order: SVU over the years, I find that I am upset with the darkness of the entire Season 20. I thoroughly disliked the underhanded, manipulative, double-dealing, actions of Rob Miller, the Judge, and the hidden agenda of the Captain in S20 : E18.
No Attorney, Judge, or Police Captain should be above the law, and as pillars of justice and law, their actions should always be above reproach.
I give Season 20 a total of 5 stars.
Lucifer: Manly Whatnots (2016)
You're Quite Adorable When You're Flustered
One of THREE BEST one-liners in this episode! I love Lucifer's response . . . "I can arrange that, actually!" This episode has other great one-liners . . . but some of THE BEST ones occur prior to Lucifer and Chloe entering the Player symposium.
Lucifer absolutely RULES in this episode and Chloe shines as his cohort in crime!
Lucifer: Lucifer, Stay. Good Devil. (2016)
Jam-packed episode!
Great repartee between Lucifer and Chloe! I find his snarky humour absolutely delightful!!
This episode, right on the heels of the "Pilot", was packed with humour, instant anger, which brings out the raised voice and the Red Eyes (my weakness) as Lucifer chastises Mazikeen, and GREAT "eyebrow torn"! Our charming Devil is a MASTER at the fine art of "eyebrow torn", and this episode makes use of that art, again, and again. Don't you know that by now? Hmm?
My favourite, most sensuous scene in S1 : E2, occurs when Lucifer is seated at his piano bar in LUX and as Chloe approaches, Lucifer inhales deeply, with eyes closed; then turns and smiles as he says, "Hello, Detective." There are no words exchanged until he turns his head to speak to her.
Even though Lucifer finds Detective Decker "wildly irritating" . . . he also notes that "there is something about her that vexes me".
Now, all this begs the question . . . "What do I do with her?"
Lucifer (2016)
Lucifer is a "Golden Devil"
I was hooked on this series the moment a shiny '62 Corvette was seen cruising down Sunset Blvd. It was soon stopped by a motorcycle Officer and we were given a good look at the man driving. Drop dead gorgeous he is; with a voice like an Angel with a British accent. A piercing gaze that can see through you and have you divulging your deepest desire while he continues to stare into your eyes and never blinks! He soon meets an LAPD homicide Detective whom he finds vexing and wildly irritating, but one he's also oddly attracted to and whom he can't stand being away from.
This series has a phenomenal cast led by the dashing Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar. This cast would be any director's dream! They work together like a well-oiled machine!
The series also has some of the BEST writers and the showrunners are two of the BEST I've ever heard of. Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson are the showrunners and also writers. Chris Rafferty, Mike Costa, Aiyana White, Jason Ning, Jen Graham Imaba, just to name a few, are the writers.
MERRY CHRISTMAS, and HAPPY HANUKKAH to the cast and writers. You all have given us, the fans, a FANTASTIC series that draws us in from the very beginning and leaves us weeping and wanting more. You've given us some truly CLASSIC, ICONIC episodes and seasons of quality viewing. For me, there will never be another series that will come ANYWHERE near the calibre of LUCIFER!
Thank you to EVERYONE involved in the creating, and writing, of this EPIC MASTERPIECE, this NEW cult classic ~ from the bottom of my heart. May all your Holidays be joyful!
#KeepLucifer! #MoreThan5Seasons!
