Trivia

While making breakfast, Lucifer (a culinary sophisticate) asks for truffle oil. Before 2010 a lot of highly regarded chefs swore by the the virtues of truffle oil, making it a much sought-after ingredient. Then they learned that many versions of truffle oil are really poor grade olive oil with added synthetic 2,4-Dithiapentane. Suddenly these same chefs couldn't tolerate the use of truffle oil. In 2017, a class action lawsuit was brought against one of the largest truffle products manufacturers in the United States when it was discovered their oil contained no truffles whatsoever.

However, there are reputable manufacturers of true truffle oils made with high grade olive oil infused with excellent quality truffles, and no chemicals. A drizzle of genuine white truffle oil is excellent on eggs - and the breakfast Lucifer made did include an omelet.

That said, an 8 oz bottle can cost from $50 to $240 (or more), depending on the quality of the truffles used. Lucifer's only error here is in assuming Chloe could afford it, or would buy such a thing even if she could (later episodes indicate her culinary tastes run to inexpensive foods like mac and cheese, vending machine sandwiches, and the like). Goofs

In the scene at Chloe's kitchen, Chloe takes a small jar out of Lucifers hand and sets it on the counter. Trixie runs in to hug Lucifer while he is seen holding the jar again, and immediately in the next shot the jar is gone from his hand. See more »

Quotes

Carver Cruz: [shouts] You. Are. A Player! Own it!
[crowd cheers]
Lucifer Morningstar: [sitting up] Excuse... excuse me! Excuse me, question!
Chloe Decker: [low] What are you doing?
Carver Cruz: The Q&A's after the speech, buddy.
Lucifer Morningstar: No, but it's quite pressing. What if you have all those manly whatnots and the woman still doesn't respond?
Carver Cruz: You may think you have them, but you don't.
[Chloe nods]
Carver Cruz: That's why you're here, right?

Deja Vu! On to the Next Case ! The Comedy continues...
16 February 2016 | by Dr_SaganSee all my reviews

I wrote it from the beginning. This is a light comedic buddy cop series. It has nothing to do with "evil" or "revenge" or any other aspect that could drawn an audience attracted by the name Lucifer. This series is not for ...Satanists or people who hate religion, or raged teenagers.

In the 4th episode (which now I'm watching only to write a review about it) the series continues exactly in the same fashion. Numerous puns and light jokes like "What in the name of God? ...Not in his name" and "When Hell freezes over" monopolize the dialogs. In between more ...songs and rock music about the devil and of course ...the Next Case! In this episode we also get to see why Lesley-Ann Brandt was casted as the demon Mazikeen. She has an extraordinary long pointing tongue which looks good in the camera when she licks something.

Also...No tail and no horns for Lucifer. In his own words: "That's the stuff for movies and TV.". This is real life. You get it?

Overall: This series is a joke and so it is its 4th episode just like the fact that people pay ...$5000 to hear a motivation speech "You are warriors and women are fluffy bunnies". I guess some Satanists in the audience will still called it a Masterpiece though....
