The Monsters of Monsanto
1 November 2009
Seeing in this film what Monsanto is doing to the American public, our food supply, our farmers and seed cleaners is still haunting me and I can't stop thinking about it. It is shocking that we are eating genetically modified organisms and don't know it. Why hasn't the media been covering any of this??? I don't know how we would have found out this information if we didn't see this movie. I can't believe they want to feed us cloned meat with no labeling requirements!!! Monsanto is anti-life and anti-democracy, they are diabolical monstrous criminals. I think people would be protesting in the streets if they knew what this company has been doing in secret to our food. The film is worth seeing just for the information about the situation with the farmers and the stealth poisoning of our food with GMOs.

So much passion went into this film

Bravissimo!!! Grazie Dio per "Cinema Italian Style." This film was arduous to view and you could feel everyone in the theater squirming in their seats. Brilliant intelligent film that demands you ask questions of yourself, your friends, society, the world and everything you thought to be true. It does not matter what country you are from because we are all a mess. Life is a messy affair, families are messy, this story is about the ultimate mess that we create. The monster is made at home in the kitchen. This movie only asks questions, it gives no solutions or answers, I'm certain it will never be released in the U.S... This film is so complex on so many levels that it is impossible to make the typical trivial comments. The passion, perceptions and intellect of everyone involved in the making of this movie is evident from the first frame. See it if you still believe film is an art form.

Excellent directorial debut
8 October 2006
Kim is relaxed, acting and directing beautifully, fantastic debut as a first time director. He has somehow managed to achieve with Alessandro Morace the kind of performance from a child that does not exist anymore. Children in current films have become insufferable, overacting, distracting hammy, annoying elements in film today. Though now that I have said it I realize they are not much different than the adults. All the actors in this film were excellent, the story compelling and it is the first time I have ever seen a character, like my own father, portrayed so perfectly on film and also the reactions of the child. I understood the characters in this film so well that it was unbearably painful for me to watch.

Bravo

Another great film by the Maestro. The only disappointment was not seeing Enrico Lo Verso in this role. Yes, Sergio is a good actor, yes, Kim Rossi-Stuart is a good actor but they are not Enrico Lo Verso when it comes to Gianni Amelio directing. Lo Verso seems to be the only current male actor who is completely at ease with this director. Amelio and Lo Verso bring out such subtle brilliance in each other, keeping secrets, unanswered questions and unspoken agreements are their specialty. I'm sure that Amelio and Lo Verso are tired of hearing this but it is a fact of reality. Together they make masterpieces. I'm seeing too much Sergio right now and I can't tell the difference in character from one film to another. Kim is a brilliant actor but in "Le Chiavi DI Casa" he seemed to be distracted by something.
