Shingeki no Kyojin: Memories of the Future (2022)
Can't keep my mouth shut
The emotions this is making me feel are unparalleled...
The twists, turns... everything is upside-down...
I am completely blown away with every episode from the second part of the season. As a person that has never read the manga everything is just so, so, so enjoyable.
This episode was a contrast to to previous one as it doesn't have zero action, but oh, boy... does it have meaning.
AOT is just on a completely another level.
What If...?: What If... Ultron Won? (2021)
Close to perfection
I watched the whole episode with my mouth opened.
I think this is the highest rated episode of the series cause most of the people actually asked this What if... and oh boy did it deliver.
Peak fiction right here.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)
Jackie Chan meets Donnie Yen meets Captain America
I really, really enjoyed the movie. The fight scenes in particular. As a fan of old school Kung Fu movies and the way they design the fighting scenes to look was just my cup of tea. That built up and exceled when the super hero fighting took place as well, it was just fighting perfection for me.
The soundtrack of this movie was off the charts, starting from the opening scene, to the train fight scene and throughout.
Now the visuals... they were... stunning.
Humour was well placed and got a giggle or two out of the whole cinema, especially with Trevor, hahah.
If it had just a biiiiiit of more depth in the story it would be a 10/10.
See: Brothers and Sisters (2021)
Awesome start to the new season
It was almost perfect. A bit more pace and it would've been a 10/10.
I love shows that have you wanting more then the episode ends and this is exactly that, which is impressive with the 1 hour time of it.
Old (2021)
Third act of the movie saves it
It was a good film. Nothing more, nothing less. I left the theatre feeling like I didn't waste my money, but like I didn't gain that much either. So it's kinda mediocre.
I found the very beginning to be intriguing, then it went like ''Come on... need something to happen'' and the last half an hour saved it for me. Found the ending to be entertaining enough.
It's worth the watch, but nothing super special here.
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Would've been so much better if the kid wasn't there at all
The movie is okay. It's a decent a bit better than a B movie, but darn that kid was ANNOYING AF. All his yelling and yapping was just... horrible.
Ended up skip-skipping through the last 15 minutes just to end it faster. The plot was good and the movie could've been better, but it went kinda downhill at the 3rd act.
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Many critics, less children at heart here...
This isn't an amazing movie by no means, but it's a cool lil' story that doesn't need credibility. If you tell this story to your falling asleep spouse, I'd bet my house that they'd enjoy it. People forget that sometimes stories don't need to be plot hole proofed, sometimes it's just a fun. This movie had more questions and suspense than many higher rated crimi movies out there.
So... If you enjoy to watch a story without having to justify every single bit, you'd enjoy this one.. flies by so fast and pleasant.
Hunter x Hunter (2011)
Overhyped as hell. It's decent, but that's all.
It's just not it. Barely made it through. I was on 146th episode and waited like two weeks to get to watch the final couple.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
What a let down...
I won't talk much, but this movie's screenplay was as it was written by a class of thirdgraders, I swear. It was ridiculous at best.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
The King is Naked
This movie is a snooze fest.
You have two of three good things about a movie, ergo excellent actors and good directing, but the third thing - the script is all over the place.
Let me ask you something.. what was this movie about? Is it about Charles Manson, is it about Rick Dalton, is it about the 60's way of an actor's life?
It has no drive, no real point.
Sharon Tate's character is just meaningless... you have pointless walking around with close to no lines at all in the whole movie. All that time you're waiting for some interaction between the protagonists and her character, which... basically never happens.
You have the scene with Manson... which is so out of place... with no backstory, no nothing.. if you have zero knowledge about the matter it's just some dude and that's it.
You have the Bruce Lee scene, which is just... I don't even have words to describe it. He's portrayed by the worst possible way (no idea why) and you have Tarantino defending the credibility of the scene by saying that Cliff is a war hero and he's a warrior. Really? Bruce Lee.. the MMA founder in a way... losing a fight to a regular Joe, even if he's military trained...
And the arrogance is just... a misunderstood confidence.
The hippie camp-ranch is the only scene in the movie, that provides any real wondering, suspense and actual care about a character in the film.
If that wasn't a Tarantino movie and it wasn't an glory-assembled cast... the score wouldn't be more than 6.0, but because no one want's to be the one to tell the truth... that the king is naked and this movie is more than mediocre.
I'd give it a lower score, but the acting in it is really good, which isn't something that can save this bunch of nonsense.
