Turbulence 2: Fear of Flying (1999)
this IS the worst film I have ever seen...
...absolutely, bar none.
At best corny and clichéd, at worst insulting to my intelligence.
For example; when the baddie throws a passenger out of a 747 door whilst flying above the airport, on a stormy night, just to prove a point, the body just happens to fall through the glass roof of the control tower where the team are negotiating with the hijacker. 'nuff said.
I feel sorry for the original audiences that will never regain those wasted couple of hours and bemused by anyone who would actually go out and spend money on the DVD. I see in the voting that some people actually gave this a 10? Presumably the director, crew and assorted family.
Delicatessen (1991)
Dark and delicious
You know that feeling you get when you and your beloved are walking down the aisles of the local video rental store and she/he says: "Oh! this is a great film, let's get it!" And your heart sinks. You love them dearly, but a (in this case) french film, subtitled with no-one you've ever heard of. Hmmmm. You force a smile and agree, just to please them.
That film was Delicatessen.
Wow.
From the opening sequence with the garbage can to l'australien saving the day via frogs, bed-springs, soporiphic tea, an evil postman, a subterranean vegetarian strike-force, the Livingston mystery, cow noise toys, a house full of mad people and much, much more, this film entertains and engages.
And the girl-friend who introduced me to the film? We've since split up. But the film remains a firm friend.
