Not as good as a movie
21 October 2001
Recess is a great TV show about kids being the way kids should be. I'm in High School, but my friends and I when we were in grade 8 all decided who was who. I think I was the swinger girl. Anyway, the show had great adventures each show and there was no on-going plot that you needed to follow and therefor kids could watch any time and not be lost with what's going on. Recess: School's Out is crap. All it is is Disney trying to suck money out of parents who will actually take their kids to the theater and plunk down 7.50 to see this corporate scam! They never made a movie out of the Simpsons, thank god! I mean, it was a cute movie, that's for sure. But the whole point of the show is seeing all the things that happen amongst the kids (which by the way is completly realistic!) and when they pull it on to the big screen they lost King Bob, and the diggers and everything about the kids playing on the playground at RECESS!

Rumble Fish (1983)

mix together 1 great book and a talented director and you got Rumble Fish
6 October 2001
I own the Outsider. It was the first Francis Ford Coppola movie I had ever seen and knew it was a Francis Ford Coppola movie. I read all of S.E. Hinton's books and thought that Rumble fish was an okay book, but of almost too dark and sad. Then I saw the movie last week and thought it was fantastic. The characters fit so well, but I guess maybe it's because they are actors and it's their job to fit well! It's easy for Matt Dillon though because I think he plays the same kind of person in all the S.E. Hinton books adapted to films. Diane Lane on the other hand can play a rich girl in one movie and white trash in the other. The thing was, the filming, which I noticed in both movies, was very creative and cinematic. He would go up close to one person even though they weren't speaking so that he could get their facial expressions while the person who is talking is out of focus and behind the person who isn't talking. And the color. Putting it in black and white you would think would make it easy to tell it's not a happy movie, but it's there for a reason. When he finally understands, he finally burts into color for a second. They talk about color a lot too. About how The motercycle boy can't see colors. The whole movie was cleaver and artistic.

The Matrix (1999)

Wonderful, gripping...

People might say that Titanic was the turning point of special effects. I disagree. Titanic was not creative. It was trying to portray a realistic ship sinking. You have to have a creative mind and this movie does it. I sat through the whole thing without fidgetting (I don't stay still well and my attention wanders) and every thing was exciting. I particullarly liked the phone ringing in the apartment, I remember that the most. I recommend this movie as the next one to rent at the video store if you haven't already.

I love the CRAB!
9 March 2001
The ultimate highlight of this movie was seeing the crab. He pinches people yet it's charming in it's own way. Even if he is not real, and a bit cheesy, "you gotta love 'im!" Sure, Tom was very good looking in his little buissness suits and Amanda was a cutie in her flower dress but the crab stole the show. You just can't help laugh when the little guy does his dance and wiggles his fake eyes you. You just can't resist smiling at him in his tux at the end of the movie!

Mumford (1999)
10/10
I love this movie. One my all time favorites.

I was walking in the video store looking at the cheap movies for sale, and I saw Mumford. I'd seen Enemy of the State a couple months earlier and noticed one actor. He didn't have a huge role, but he definitely stood out. He is so believable in each role he plays that I am shocked every time! He acts better than Will Smith! Will Smith is funny even when he's trying not to be. So anyways, I asked my Dad if we could buy it. It was 10 bucks. I watched it OVER and OVER again! I got the 10 dollars worth out of it! So, his name... is Loren Dean. I admire him completely. Remember this name. Loren Dean. He's going down in history.
