Harvard Man (2001)
I am now dumber for having seen this movie
I can't stand movies that have no realism. The main character would never make it into Harvard, he's not smart enough... not to mention he never went to class or studied. And if you want to talk about the basketball quality, I've seen horrible high school team that are way better than the losers they had in this movie. Is it really that hard to grab some guys who can actually play to shoot these scenes?
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
Nothing else like it
To compare this movie to other war movies is just wrong. Most war movies have no true emotion as far as what is would be like to be there. The realism of this film can have so much impact on your life if you just let it, and understand the real sacrifice that solders have made. Solders who are real people and not just names on a wall or in a book or on a death certificate. This movie was not made for your entertainment, it was made for the vets of WWII... and American vets at that. I don't believe that there is any possible way to know the impact a war can have on your life when serving in combat without experiencing it first hand. Saving Private Ryan is the closest thing possible to that. I have more respect and admiration for those who have fought for their country now that I have seen this film. This is by far the best film ever made.
