It is a video treasure
30 June 1999
This movie defines a video treasure. A video treasure for me is a film that is so enjoyable to watch that you wouldn't possible regret it, yet at the same time isn't very well known & isn't very often reprinted on VHS. That is what is this movie. I would almost bet it hasn't been reprinted in the past twenty years yet every once a decade or so you might ketch a viewing on A&E or a late night cinema. & if you ever get a chance to view it take that chance...

Sure it has rough parts (mainly the whole movie), yet it is one of the only movies that made no apology for being a monogerie of racial & social bias & prejudice. It is one polack of italian joke to the next... a barrage of interesting & entertaining characters. This is a great movie. i have only been able to find it once, but that was enough (believe me). So search for a viewing & enjoy.

It's strange how such a strangely amazing film goes unheard

"I like doing movies because they're easier than painting." Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol is one of the finest artistic minds that we have ever & will ever witness. It was more than just the replications in "Dypitche", Andy illustrated ourselves to ourselves (which is a very hard thing to do. It goes much deeper than that...

Andy had a skill I can only hope I will learn with even half of his grace. He was able to make anything seem interesting if not only by his very eccentricity than by his appreciation at noticing other's beauty. None of which was explained greater than when he constructed this well known private film. It seems that it is most well known in fact for its not being well known. It is infamous for playing in uncrowded theaters to merely a group of 2 or 3 art students.

But that was the part of it that is interesting. It is not only a strange piece that goes well with many of his other pieces but it is an obscure marvel in itself. It's several hours of a man sleeping & that is it. It is a great film to watch for the thrill of it. Give it a try. If you can find a copy or a showing i emplore you, give it a try. You'll most likely regret it, but you only live once.

It's a trip

It is well documented that anything affiliated with the creaters of southpark is a trip. This is of course a definite. I liked it. Not too many people know about it though. Find some footage. I think it's pretty sweet *ss.

Tommy (1975)
mediocre is a good thing
22 June 1999
I understand that many people did not enjoy this movie, & they are of course allowed their own critique. Though I am on the most part happy that the movie went were it did. I am aware that it is not as good as the CD or the play even but the many good points that it had I enjoyed.

This movie is a treasure trove for so many of the most memorable moments of film, just think about them: Tina Turner transforming into a syringe sacophagous, Elton John as the Pin Ball wizard (& those shoes), a television explding with nutritional goodness, a Marylon Monroe church, Tommy's holiday park, & JACK NICKOLSON sings! There are these & so many more.

Sure it may not be the greatest movie ever (& no one said it was), & yes it doesn't exactly follow the amazing cd, but for the good points you should watch it. I play it regularly at parties & everyone loves it. It is well known for the corniness & silliness of the reinactments, but if that is what you like... give it a try. & while your at it pick up a copy of the Who's album, you won't regret it.
