The Mummy (1999)
$150M on effects and $20 on plot??
Man, what a turkey. Let me see... $150M on special effects and $20 on plot and acting. I'm not going to waste a bunch of time commenting on this movie except to say that it was one of the worst pieces of junk I have ever watched. The acting was terrible, the plot was horrible, the dialog was stupid... the special effects, however, were very good.
Face/Off (1997)
Stupid premise = stupid movie
I generally like John Travolta, but he needs to be a lot more careful with the scripts he accepts; he could easily sink right back into obscurity. The good guy and bad guys switch faces?!? Give me a break. The movie was long, boring, and unbelievable. I found myself hoping the darn thing would end around 2/3rds through the movie. Go back to Pulp Fiction John... these action/thriller flicks aren't your bag.
Raising Arizona (1987)
One of the best comedies...
Ah... how I wish Nicholas Cage would go back to making movies as good as this one instead of the junk he's been in lately. Raising Arizona is one of my favorite movies at all time, and Cage's performance is pure genius in this one. You've got to love John Goodman's performance as well.
This movie is one of those rare gems which don't come along often but are worth watching over and over again.
