Totally Awesome with a few flaws
28 May 1999
TPM does not disappoint. It's totally awesome - the acting was fine, the plot was good and the script was okay. The visual effects were amazing and the light saber duels were the best ever in Star Wars. I didn't find Jar Jar Binks irritating at all too.

However, I did find the speaking accents of the various aliens quite irritating. And I thought it was way too easy for Anakin to accidentally blow up the whole ship which disabled the droids.

On the whole, this movie rocks and I'll definitely watch it a few more times in the cinema.

Could have been better

Warning: Spoilers
I thought the cast was excellent and the script was pretty tight until Jeane Tripplehorn's character got killed off. After that, the storyline went nowhere and pacing dropped several notches. This is a pretty good movie but nowhere near Shallow Grave, one of the best black comedy movies ever made. If you miss "Very Bad Things", you won't be missing a lot.

A Waste Of Time

What a big disappointment. I love Drew Barrymore and her acting is the only saving grace. The script is terrible and totally unbelievable. The music is great though, probably because I grew up in the 80s. I definitely wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless you're a die-hard Drew Barrymore fan.
