Humourous view of an American encountering life in Australia
13 November 2001
A film more remembered for Greta Scacchi than Eric Roberts. The Coca Cola salesman discovers that not everything goes with Coke. A very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours and if it comes your way, be sure and catch it. It will be worth the time!!

A great film to cap two great careers!
14 November 2000
For nearly forty years, this film has held the spotlight as the perfect conclusion to the film careers of two great western actors. Scott and McCrea climax their distinguished careers with performances that should be used as role models by any aspiring actor. From McCrea's bumbling and confused entrance to his touching final scene his screen presence commands each scene without dominating it. Scott gives the perfect counterbalance with his depiction of a man whose character changes without being maudlin.

Indeed, all the performances fill their required niches so that they all contribute to the end product in just the right degree. This film will likely become one of the true classic westerns.

A low-key sleeper.
6 November 1998
A film destined to be on late-night TV long after the present instant "money-makers" have long been forgotten. Perhaps a little too subtle for today's youngsters, but in time they'll grow into an appreciation of this movie.
