The Shop Around the Corner (1940)

Wonderful movie.

I must have seen this movie about 10 times and always enjoy it as if it was my first time viewing it. Wonderful characters, from James Stewart as Mr. Kralik the sales assistant to Frank Morgan's portrayal of store manager Mr. Matuschek. It's a great love story with plenty of humour and one of James Stewart's best movies.

The Shamrock Conspiracy (1995 TV Movie)

Disappointing Edward Woodward movie.

I was extremely disappointed with this movie. It was truly woeful! The awful Irish stereotypes (and accents) made it even worse! If it was not for the excellent Edward Woodward, this movie would deserve 0 out of 10!

Rough Air: Danger on Flight 534 (2001 TV Movie)

Awful movie. Riddled with inaccuracies!

So many inaccuracies in this movie that I don't know where to start. Flight 534 is shown as a short-haul Boeing 737 with a black tail when taking off from London, when it is supposed to be a long-haul Boeing 757? with a red tail! ... and, could they not cast an Irish actor to play the part of the Shanwick Radio controller? Such a woeful Irish accent! BTW, Shanwick does not posess the technology to contact Keflavik Tower by radio all the way from Shannon!

Mind Your Language (1977–1986)

Brilliant comedy!

I agree with "suavebloke", Hong Kong. In my opinion, this is not a racist series. I am enjoying the re-runs on Sky Satellite at the moment & it's a funny as ever. The late Barry Evans is excellent in the role of the teacher. I wonder what ever happened to the extremely attractive Francoise Pascal, who played the French student?

The MatchMaker (1997)

Delightful, amusing story. Milo O'Shea is excellent in the title role.

This movie was shown for the second time recently on Sky Satellite. It's a delightful & amusing story set in a small, fictitious, Irish town of Ballinagra during the annual Matchmaking Festival. Milo O'Shea is excellent in the title role. Judging by recent press critics, it has been well received here & in the UK. I look forward to seeing it again!
