Great Movie - A story of courage and determination.
14 June 2002
This is a great film, well acted and based on the real life of Carl Brashear. If you ever want to know how hard it must have been for a black man in the american armed forces this is one of the movies that will show you.

Carl Brashear has to overcome racism, disability, heartache and downright ignorance of the times. What he overcomes will amaze you as it sure did to me, he achieves his sole ambition in life to become a Master Diver.

His achievement as I have said is not without suffering greatly at the hands of people determined to see him fail. This film most probably only shows and gets across some of what Carl Brashear had to go through and overcome. One of the nice things about this movie is that Carl Brashear himself is the key military consultant to the movie and that Cuba Gooding Jr actually did some real training to be a navy diver.

Envy Carl Brashear the mans achievements and determination to achieve his goals in life as I certainly do.............

A Great Film - makes you realise how lucky you are......
14 June 2002
This film is a must see for anyone, it is based on the true story of Oskar(Oscar) Schindler and his brave heroic saving of many lives during and after World War 2.

There is no way to explain how much Schindler did and must have gone through to achieve what he did. This is not a sci-fi film but a film of one mans manipulation of using evil people to save lives. The way Schindler risks his own life by cleverly ensuring that he has made friends of the most powerful nazis in the area he lives and works in, to ensure that if things go against him he has an 'escape route' shows the mans intelligence.

One of the main things that has to be said about Schindler was that he certainly never could ever be classed as a racist, or as some have suggested using the jewish people to save his own skin. This as shown in the film is far from the truth, Schindler is awake to the evil actions of the nazis and their intentions to wipe them from the face of the planet.

For anyone thinking of watching this great film that is in two minds as to whether to or not - the answer is go for it you will not be dissapointed. The film as I say is based on fact and not to be sniffed at when looking at what Schindler did for the jewish people, he saved the lives of many many jews and of course their offspring, many jewish families today owe their lives to Oskar Schindler.

One of the best films ever made in my opinion and will always be rated as such..........

Great Movie - a must see
23 May 2002
Don't listen to the so-called critics who have slated this great movie. Go see it at the cinema while you can and if not make a point of watching it when it's released on video/dvd, you will be glad you did.

The story line ties up quite a few ends to the original Star Wars movie with a visit to Luke Skywalker's uncles & aunts home on tatooine, also we start to get an idea as to why Annakin/Darth Vader is drawn to the dark side of the force.

I won't spoil it for people who haven't seen the film other than to say if do go to see this movie then you will be glad you did, it's well worth it no matter what some say.

Mel Gibson shines again
28 February 2002
Great movie with Mel Gibson, Helen Hunt & Marisa Tomei in the main parts. Mel is great as the woman thought hearing blessed man, at first he thinks it is a sort of curse but shortly after visiting his shrink played by Bette Midler he realises he has been given this priceless gift. After this he goes on to use it to try and advance in his job by using the thoughts of Helen Hunt (his rival as he sees it in his profession)

This is a suprisingly good film and well worth watching.

A Truly Great Series......
6 April 2000
This programme is one of the best about and it certainly has been about for quite a while. Very sadly one of the funniest and most active comedians I have ever seen Bill Owen died recently, but although he was almost the main character in the show I'm certainly glad that for Bills memory that the show has continued. One of the great things about the show is that just about all of the actors in the show have made their mark in other comedy's and other shows, yet they all seem like they have been in the show from the start, for example Jean Alexander spent many years as Hilda Ogden in Coronation Street and Stephen Lewis was well known as Blakey in On The Buses. Take a look at this show and I think you will be glad you did.

Great British Old School Comedy
13 January 1999
This is some of the most watched old school British comedy shows that was ever screened. If you like in any way the likes of Love Thy Neighbour and similar shows then this is a must! Great show that sadly ended far too soon.
