BGM should be more powerful in Thriller or Horror movies. We can expect little here. Audience should fear to watch the movie. Little lag in that. However film was done very carefully by connecting all dots. Must watch...

Jessie is a psychological horror thriller which has a few engaging moments. The narration and character establishment in the first half are okay. But too many subplots and twists in the second half may not go well with the audiences who expect more horror elements. Finally, Jessie ends up being an okay watch

GREAT WORK BY THE CAST AND CREW...
in between the half cooked and senseless comedy horror movies with no proper story i felt this the best movie every thriller movie fan will like.
I went to movie with no expectation but when i came out of the theatre i just thought this is how a good thriller feels. these kind of movies regularly made in hollywood but seeing it in telugu cenima made me proud.. this is a positive sign that new film makers are coming with passion to cinema... in every frame of the movie i have seen their effort.
in the beginning i felt the pace was slow but when in the 2nd half the plot was revealed i felt its nice the charactrs are established well thats why i felt the thrill
RARELY WE SEE THESE KIND OF MOVIES IN TELUGU... BETTER GO AND WATCH IT IN THEATRE FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE.. WE MUST SUPPORT SUCH MOVIES WHICH GIVES BOOST FOR THEM TO TRY SOMTHING NEW

If you have high expectations of this movie due to the very positive reviews you will be smashed into pieces when you actually watch it let alone that you should have none expectations i tried to watch this film seriously but all i could manage was watching as a gag untill it finished.
First Point: The voices are all dubbed theres 0 quality in it
Second P: It has bad dialogue and those dialogues are half in indian and half in english for some reason i dont even know at this moment
Third P: Theres no actual effort in the movie you can even see one of the frames blatantly being pulled down with some sort of a string when its supposed to be falling off due to the spirit shaking the house
Fourth P: The plot doesnt make any sense and it is forced you don't even understand it while watching most of the film
Fifth P: Characters are just cringy and cheesy watching them will give you geniune head aches thinking about is this really a thing ? for example the edgy exorcist guy and the stereotype fat woman
Sixth P: Its just flat out not scary although they tried their hardest with slow motions and loud building up soundtracks it just never does it for the viewer its mainly because of theres nothing to be scared of since we never see the spirit do anything bad instead of hitting the doors left and right
Seventh P: Seriously we never get to see anyone dying they just dissappear and we assume that they are dead...
I still dont know what people found in this movie its just utter rubbish i laughed more than i frightened and those laughs were about how bad and cringy the movies was those laughs werent thanks to jokes in the film the whole film seemed like a joke so it sure did made me laugh...

Watched this film based on all the audience reviews pouring in, and I am glad I did. A great attempt by a fairly new team. Technically strong, intriguing screenplay, great bgm and performances, keeps you glued until the end. Strong recommendation, experience something new in Telugu Cinema. And yes, don't leave your brain behind. ;)

Horrendous watch even if you are unconscious. If you are thinking this would a decent watch, then oh boy I have bad news for you. It doesn't even qualify to be a b-grade movie. The acting is so bad that it won't even be accepted on tik-tok.

We have many movies to be released this summer but I think no one can gift such a good movie to telugu audience. Climax was really marvelous and fantastic. It can be U certified blindly without censor. Best film of 2019 - Jessie.

Not many, actually hardly any telugu movies pack a good story away from the usual male-centric romantic comedies/ drama films. This movie has a strong female cast and they aren't just props.
The story starts with ghosthunters investigating a haunted house. The film is about their investigation and the story of the residents of the haunted Victoria House.
I will try to not reveal the story as I review the efforts of the cast and crew.
The production value of this movie is very strong. Great art direction. The antiques and scary props get a thumbs up. The house is quite beautiful when it isn't haunting.
The makeup in the film is outstanding! The eyes, the vein popping...the gore...just wow! I looked up the makeup artist and turns out she is largely self taught. Kudos, I'd add her to the strong female presence in the movie. Including the producer who is also a woman and a first timer in the industry. Double thumbs up! Very happy about this because it's extra difficult for women to work in the telugu industry that is largely male dominated.
Ok,on to the film now.
Though the story makes me wonder how many international films were watched to patch together this storyline, I fall short in finding any that were copied. Seems pretty original. Let me know if you found something that was copied. Coming from a first time director,I think he did a good job. Only drawback is unnecessary bits in the story that could have been done away with entirely. I understand that he was trying to mislead the audience but when you try to connect the dots it is irritating. He could have focused on better character establishment of the other cast. The actress who doesn't believe in ghosts is hardly convincing she only has one expression of worry for her sister that remains on her face throughout. She shines in the exorcism scene.. the eyes! The costumes are nice. The Rajeev character is quiet. he comes quietly and exits quietly. The actor does a fine job of playing it. Amy character is weird. some details are just to mislead us. The actress struggles to play childish character and then becomes very scary. One scene of somebody under the bed is outstanding! Atul kulkarni is well used. Exorcist is convincing.
I have used a fine comb to review this movie and a lot of things that audience won't notice, I have.
Sameera, played by archana shasty who i found to be very fake, could have had a meatier role but her presence is boring and she hardly brings much to the scenes. Her costume was unusual. I don't know why she was walking alone with bags in high heels in the beginning. Some things are just unusual and silly in the movie. Like jessie calling her sister psychic and not psycho..unless she was predicting things which I have missed. Even exorcist is called different things...I even noticed the spelling of exorcist in the end credits which is wrong 😂 it is written as exirist..some things in telugu cinema just dont change. Ha ha ha hahaha!
Some emotions are also misplaced. And seem very fake given the situation. That is director babu's fault .
The ghosthunters led by shalini (again thumbs up for a female leading the team here, she smokes and drives the car, played by pavani g.reddy who is good but is sometimes flat with only one emotion/expression, I guess she should have got more room to play the character of a strong leading lady ghost hunter) aren't all that convincing as a ghost hunting unit. Except for the cameras, voice recorder and one field measuring scale, they dont have any other equipment.
I would have enjoyed knowing a lil more of their story. Who is this Joe character and why is she scared all the time? Is she not a ghost hunter? The director uses her well as a comic relief but I found the stereotype of the 'silly girl's very annoying. But the new actor has done a very good job in whatever little role she got. She is a big surprise package. When possessed..the character could have done more ...but none of that is explored..cuz the ending is very hastily put together. Even mojo character I would have liked if they explained more about him, he is the nerd of the gang. Maybe because i like nerd characters a lot. Abhinav, who plays abhi..gets some meaty chunk of lines maybe because he is an established actor. He does a good job too. long wide angle shots that have all 5 actors crammed in. The scenes with all of them are very crowded. A lot of the shots that pack good thrills and scares haven't been executed properly. How come her emf didn't work around the ghost but worked at other times? She doesn't even scan the rooms. She just holds it in her hand the entire time. But I guess the running time of the movie would have increased considerably if they had executed all the shots properly and to their full potential. There are also lots of continuity goof ups. The hair and makeup is different in every third frame of the same scene for all the actors. Some blackish thing on shalini's neck (birthmark or tattoo?) keeps peeling off and looks disgusting. The actors also move around in the same shot. I guess the director's team should have done a better job of paying attention to this.
The flashbacks are long and arduous. The TV comes on...then off..then on...the ghost is trying to tell her story but ..ok I will not reveal the films story..just very silly the way technology is used. So many questions remain unanswered. Which is ok sometimes but most of the questions the film evokes are completely unnecessary.
The cinematography is quite nice and adds to the high production value but the lighting of the dark night shots is different in the same scenes. But overall good. Some places I thought the actors looked stretched and the cameraman isn't paying attention to it. The nature photography is excellent.
Ending is weird. It makes us ask toooo many questions. Everything happens quickly and in a blink and miss kind of way. But I guess that's what you'd want after such a lengthy flashback. Many missed opportunities in the ending sequence. One more silly thing..what is the cop shooting at in the end? There is no latch or lock on the door..again weird. And whenever abhi is reaching for shalini..they are so close..their hands are touching..then they're not..the ghost reaction is weird..very childish..leave or die..leave or die..and like shalini says the ghost hasn't been harmed by them so why she went suddenly crazy I don't know.
Overall, lots of missed potential. But a good movie nevertheless. The director/writer had too much pressure he created for himself by getting entangled in the plots and sub plots he himself creates. A bit messy if u ask me. I guess with more experience he will make better films. He definitely has potential. I will watch his next film for sure.
Go for it. I have watched movie in theater and Amazon Prime. The sound effects in theater were toooo loud. But on prime they are fine. My friends who were dissing the movie got very scared in some scenes, i enjoyed that. Overall audience reactions throughout the movie was very gripping and intense.. great suspense moments but still people came out and didnt say good things about the movie. That was unfair.

This film is awful. The music is way overly dramatic for scenes that sadly are silly, boring and apparently meant to be scary.
I got bored during the whole explanation at the end.
The cutting from loud intense music to abrupt silence I can only assume was an artistic choice, however, it is nothing more than an overused annoyance.
There are some great horror films both big and small budget but this is not even close to b recommending it, even as a "so bad it's funny" horror. It's boring.
The first 20 minutes or so were intriguing, I could forgive the attempts at humour that fell flat. It went downhill at a fast rate from there.

As said in the heading, this movie is a fresh conceptual thriller, but filled with traditional Horror scenes.
Story: (No spoilers)
A group of paranormal investigators go to investigate a bungalow. What happens later is the story.
Acting:
All amateur actors with only Kabir Duhan Singh and Atul Kulkarni being the experienced actors. Everyone were good in their roles.
Technical:
The biggest and the best thing about the movie is the screenplay. Excellent non linear screenplay. Many try it but only few succeed in it. BGM is another plus point of the movie. Direction was very good. Excellent story. Crisp runtime is like the icing on the cake.
Plus: Screenplay BGM Story
Minus: Climax because it's filled with cliched scenes.
Final: Definitely a must watch for horror lovers and people who like screenplay based movies.
My rating: 10/10
