One of the best episodes in the show yet.

After a brilliant premiere to open Succession's second season, the drama continues to unfold in a manner which is far more engaging, emotionally and dramatically, than the first season.

This is a truly wonderful show, which only seems to be going up a gear with each passing episode. Again, much more focus on Kendall and also Shiv this time around. I've said this before and I will say it again, Jeremy Strong is the absolute star of this show. For a character who I really shouldn't want to succeed, he is easily the one who the audience may perhaps be able to resonate with. God, it is awful to see him in this state and I'm beginning to wonder if he will truly recover or if this is the beginning of a huge downfall arc.

Logan, who has flip-flopped back and forth, in my opinion, over the last two episodes, is back to being as loathsome and despicable as ever. This man truly is the devil. His empire and his remarkable fortune is to be admired, but this episode reinforces just how he got there. By being a bully, a puppeteer, a downright abuser to those close to him.

Shiv continues to infuriate me with her every movement. She is a wildly aggravating presence, who will hurt people, switch alliances and blame others around her for this behaviour at the click of a finger, usually for personal gain or out of complete spite. Her relationship with Tom may seem initially pure, but it is clear that there are elements of emotional abuse/manipulation involved, and I fear that he is too scared to leave or admit this.

The writing is as stellar as always and each episode seems to be as good as or better than the last. This is shaping up to be an all-timer season. A demanding watch, for sure, but a very enjoyable one. Onto the next.

I'm rating it a ten because my dad told me to

It is so amazing/ heart breaking to see kendall's character development through this episode and the emotionlessness of the personality. Where last episode (and last season as a whole) made the audience sympathise with Kendall, despite the drugs and to some extent understand his situation more than any other character, this episode uses him in a more interesting way: as a puppet for Logan to control. After his continuous attempts to outwit his father have backfired so harshly, we are seeing a character that has completely given up and it is fascinating to watch.

Kendall: The Axe
Hitchcoc14 September 2022
Tom is full of jealousy. He actually thought he would be the next CEO. Shiv realizes that the promise is tenuous and she needs to act quickly. It will be interesting to see how she will get nailed. Roman is expendable at the moment because Kendall, in his catatonic state, is being used as a club. He is merely a mouthpiece and has stopped thinking. The hammer comes down on Vaulter with no regard for the employees or their loyalties. I have a friend who worked for a company that made sophisticated medical supplies. One day he went with his fellow employees to an auditorium, which was advertised as a workshop. A man came on the stage and fired everyone, allowing them to make thirty minute appointments to clear out their desks. So this is not fiction. And the cutthroats couldn't care less about his fifteen years of service. Excellent.

Amazing Show!

This has to be one of HBO's finest. The show is so well written and the acting superb. With a family this messed up, who needs enemies.

Continuation of last season's excellence..
disambiguator19 August 2019
Based on my initial rating and review of the first episode (1-rating) of season one, I continue to be astounded by the sheer level of brilliance this show has managed to attain (as show progressed, I changed my rating to 7, and then finally 10 for finale) and maintain since it's initial underwhelming start. I don't know if they hired new writers, or what changes they made after the first few episodes, but this show has blossomed into one one the most incredibly written shows on TV.

This episode had me running the gamut from cringing, to yelling (at weasel extraordinaire Roman Roy of course), to nodding my head knowingly, to WTF?!?, to "fist pumping" a shocking comeuppance served in exquisite blind-sided, humiliating fashion to a well-deserving recipient. With most shows, you can see plot turns coming a mile away, but I was caught completely off guard at least two or three times in this ONE episode. All I can say is if the show continues at this pace and quality, we're in for a helluva season!

And I'd be remiss, if I didn't offer special praise to Kieran Culkin (Roman Roy), for his master-class, and very realistic portrayal of what HAS to be one of the most rage-inducing characters of all time. He is quite simply, superb.

Good beginning of season 2

Greetings from Lithuania.

I enjoyed first two episodes of "Succesion" of season 2 way more then i did in first season. Now that we know (or think we know) the family, the word they inhabit, the characters it feels more interesting. And there would were less interest in these first two episodes if the ending of season 1 wouldn't be as great and kinda shocking as it was. These first two episodes leads directly into ongoing story and does it superbly. I really liked the twist and turns that were happening, all of them felt natural (in meaning of this word) and plausible.

Overall, first two episodes were good.

[8.3] Pride, prejudice and belittling: The keys to the crown

Warning: Spoilers
Episode 2: An impressive episode in terms of the changes puppet Kendall and Siobhan are going through, also with Roman being thrown out to the bin for now, loved it.

Very well-acted, mostly as always, engaging, enthralling and the first time I really praise an episode of Succession.

Shiv is the key character this season

Warning: Spoilers
I like Shiv in this episode and she is in a power position right now, she is smart and she.has the power position, Tom is just a pathetic little guy and Greg is not interesting, Kendall and Roman interactions are always fun to watch and Logan is playing with his little per Kendall, peach actress i don't know her name is great and of course valture is ending that's the main focus of the episode m, overall great episode and great direction too, the shoots and the background are just very profesional filmed and i fell bad for Marcia she is a sad woman its like a wife trophy but without being a trophy 🏆.
