I would say it's average. The movie is too fast pace and it lack main character personality development.

Great movie!!

I enjoyed this movie and have seen it twice. It folds into the marvel cinematic universe well. It explains captain marvels story of how she came to be well especially for people that don't read the comics. It's not based on a specific story line but based on the concept of captain marvel. I thought the acting was fantastic, it was funny and entertaining.
People take for granted we live in a golden age of movie making and this is a great link into the end game next month. Brilliant movie!

Don't trust the trailer, it worths your time...

The whole Production was completely awesome, TBH I didn't expect the movie would be like that, the trailer give away the main plot of the movie and the concept, for the 4th reason I won't trust the trailer any more, I'd say it way much better than captain America.
I really felt the 90's when I saw the movie.
It was ok

Plot holes, a pet with more character than the lead, & it doesn't fit in the MCU time line well
mmwright-0381811 March 2019
Plot holes and unanswered questions abound leading parts of the story to not make sense. It doesn't fit particularly well in the MCU timeline for quite a few reasons, for example in Thor Nick Fury says the discovery of Thor and his kind opened SHIELDs eyes to the fact that they were severely unprepared for the types of beings they might have to face, this doesn't make sense seeing as how the events in Captain Marvel pre-dated those of Thor. The MCU is a large jigsaw puzzle assembled over 10yrs and Captain Marvel is a piece of an entirely different puzzle that someone tried to make fit by hammering it in place.
Another good marvel movie

Unforced error

As a stand-alone movie it's ok. Brie Larson doesn't show much in the form of emotional range to sell any real threat in the plot. Maybe that's bc there isn't really a threat in the movie. They fog up the skrulls purpose in the whole comic book universe as a constant antogonist. We've seen the action so nothing new there. Finally, they waste Ronin. Such a waste of a character.
The biggest problem is from it not being a stand alone movie. It's part of the most ambitious cinimatic collaboration of all time. Which has had some low points for sure but where it sits now, having half the hero's dusted and the iconic thanos seemingly invincible, is down right glorious. The individual story development with every charactwrs gives Endgame so much weight. We are going to see, most likely, two or more of our favorite hero's sacrifice themselves to save the universe. But now, we have captain Marvel. Who, with a little struggle and basically no trials, has become an equivalent to Thanos. Captain Marvel should have sold us on why she deserves the huge jump to the front of the line. It didn't. If she has a giant role in taking down thanos it'll feel like we've been tricked with a weak plot point. I hope instead she has a good supporting role and isn't the one who kills thanos. Then has a chance to developer in whatever phase we are in now.
I was pumped when the pager dropped at the end of Infiniti war. I thought it'd be a nice quick addition like Black panther was. Who doesn't like more marvel movies to spend hours rewatching? But this didn't add to anything like it should have.

Spoiler: What I expected
glamisbound-8415010 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
For the first MCU solo female origin story film of a character for a non comic book reading person would see, is exactly what was expected, and personally I loved it.
Its Carol Danvers having no memory of her human side & she's been trained to be non emotional soldier for battle. It's Nick Fury before he became jaded by betrayal. It's Phil Coulson as a rookie in S.H.I.E.L.D.. Non of these characters know each other at all and it's Fury having a Aha moment that he has to find a team of superhero's to fight.
I suspect that Capt Marvel will be a lot different in Endgame.
Good entertainment for cat lovers

Great movie
sscamaro-1106111 March 2019
Really enjoyed watching this movie would definitely watch again. But the best part was seeing how happy my 3 daughters loved a hero movie with a female lead. They already told me to get them a blue ray copy as soon as its released lol.
Shouldn't have seen it after all
WeWatchMovies12 March 2019
I went in trying to make up my mind based on the other marvel movies (I didn't read the comics); we went this afternoon so the theatre would be empty. Personally, I didn't like "Captain Marvel", I've been increasingly disappointed in the films, especially Thor Ragnarok, man that one killed me and I love Thor. I don't know how comic readers feel about it but I wish I had waited til it was 3 bucks on Xbox it free on amazon prime. I felt I needed to see it before endgame but I think I would have figured anything I don't know about it in endgame.
#METOO Wins Out Over Weak Filmmaking
amadour11 March 2019
Maybe #meetoo needs to come with a set of instructions. It won't be able to save every fair-to-midland movie, as this one certainly is. The lead actress is the problem primarily, she lacks star power, is low energy, and has difficulty carrying a show. The suggestion of some kind of love interest would have likely made her appear more relatable, if that type of thing isn't passé today.
No joke, no hate, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!
grimlock-9631411 March 2019
It's your hard earned money, don't waste it. It's a Redbox movie or a $3.99 rental, not a theater movie. It isn't good till the very end and if you know anything at all about the comic, you'll be extremely upset. They murdered the comic. Alot of people are mad because they feel Brie Larson is a feminist, believe me, she's actually just bland. I couldn't decide if she just hated the roll or the other actors, it was easy to see that she just wasn't in it. I'm just being honest, I was just upset I wasted 4 movie tickets on it
Great movie!
