This film deserves more than what it get. It's an absolute culmination of complex emotions and feelings of love... Bengali films need this kind of love stories.... Thank you Kaushik sir to continue the real and organic relation between Podda and Nasir Ali What we have already seen in the previous national award winning film.
And what a character you have played. For your Work as Kaushik Ganguly and as Ganesh Mandal This two films should be remembered decades.

If bisorjon was a Jaya Ahsan show then this is a Koushik Ganguly show for sure.
1. Solid script.
2. Excellent performances from everyone.
3. Wow music.
4. Excellent direction and narration of the movie.
Note: dialogue delivery of Koushik Ganguly was incredible.
Ending was a little bit predictable.

Faulty Storyline

The movie is a shadow of it's previous version, Bisorjon. The only redeeming feature is Abir Chatterjee's better acting compared to the earlier one. Kaushik Ganguly and Jaya Ahsan play their roles well.
The fault one lies in Ganesh Mondal being a severely disabled heart patient performing his daily chores with ease. He has to be on supplemental oxygen, but takes off the mask and behaves as a normal person.
Second, he and his family smuggle into India without any valid permit (passport). Then gets admitted to a Corporate Hospital without a passport, leave alone a Medical Visa, which is the basic prerequisite for admission. And the timeline of the event is quite recent as the money changing hand is after demonitization.
Being the only worthwhile director of Bengali movies, it's sad that he failed to get proper guidance from the research team giving him advice on this front.

Not up to my expectations

I was disappointed with the slow and complex discussions taken by the charecters in the film. ABIR's charecter was feeling helpless throughout the movie... The first part was the base of the film and was wonderfully executed.
A cathartic face off between love and responsibilities

Warning: Spoilers
Kaushik Ganguly brings back the protagonists of Bisorjon (the film that won the National Award for the Best Bengali Feature Film in 2017) into its sequel in Bijoya. Six years have passed since Nasir Ali (Abir Chatterjee) made his way back to India after a tumultuous few weeks at Sripur in Bangladesh, Padma (Jaya Ahsan) is married to Ganesh Mondol (Kaushik Ganguly) as she had promised and has a son Montu. Only Padma is aware that Nasir Ali is Montu's real father and she would rather keep it that way for everyone's benefit, but destiny has different plans for them, as Ganesh's ailing heart brings all the characters to a battlefield again, this time in Kolkata. This time around, facts and secrets will rise to the surface from the depths, challenging loyalties, love, responsibilities and the matters of the heart. Bijoya is about the complexity that arises when Ganesh Mondal and Nasir Ali face off with each other, both professing love for Padma, and yet, the former requesting Nasir Ali to support Padma and her son when death strikes. It is about Padma's reactions, helplessness, the strife between her love and responsibilities and finally, the strength of her character.
The film totally belongs to Jaya Ahsan. She picks up the pieces from where she left them in Bisorjon and delivers perfection. Kaushik Ganguly gives himself a larger role and belts out a credible and cracking performance too. Comparatively, Abir comes across as somewhat subdued and shaky, but far better than what he did in Bisorjon. Mind you, there are enough spoilers in this otherwise gripping love triangle, like how easy is it to cross borders without documentation at will, or how does a Bangladeshi citizen get admission in a to notch private hospital without adequate identification documentation, among the many more. These aside, Bijoya makes for a captivating watch for its compact storytelling and the ace performances of Jaya Ahsan and Kaushik Ganguly.
