The movie did what it wanted to do to viewers. Cry. Does it automatically means its a great film? Not exactly. It was saved by great acting on all parties. It had its moments but the rest was too predictable. The ending reminds me of another pinoy movie. Some scenes were like skits you see in an abs/gma teleserye. I honestly enjoyed it but just disappointed with how simple the story is.

Since I'm no fan of wattpad, this story does not seem familiar. I loved how the writers gave so much heartfelt dialogue and I just admire how the actors give so much emotions even without saying anything! I love it! Made me cry like there's no tomorrow!! Also, would like to agree that one's relationship will indeed be tested when you're alone together, esp in a foreign country.

This film is so overrated. I even asked myself why did I watched this. The experience was horrible, terrible. It is indeed poignant. How could this indie film be such? This one looks so light and bright but hits damn hard. I regret watching this before the day breaks. When everyone is having their good night sleep, having their sweetest dreams. I should've forced myself to sleep rather. I don't know if I can still do the errands set for the day as this film exhausted my whole being. It digged the deepest of my emotions piled and buried for a long time that my mind can't even remember. 30 minutes to an hour later after watching, I still find myself being so pathetic with a swollen face grasping for some air to breathe. So I am begging for those who haven't watched, please watch at your own risk.

Through Night and Day is one of the best Filipino films for me, because the story is so good! Kudos to Alessandra de Rossi who wrote the story. I didn't expect she could write that well! I'm impressed!
So, the film is a mixed drama, comedy and romance. With Paolo Contis, you'll really expect there will be so much comedy but of course, we all know how great an actor Paolo Contis was when he was a child and until now, he really is. He's not only in comedy but he can be in any genre! This is one reason that actually made the film so good and entertaining. Both Alessandra and Paolo are so funny.
Great film locations! Since the beginning I got chills already! How can I not? They shot it in Baguio and Iceland! Everything is perfect! From the story, locations and their love team! The music is okay too.
So if you are looking for a drama comedy, this film is for you. Just ready your empty bucket 'coz for sure you will need it after the Iceland view!

I only watched this because it's rated #1 in Netflix and my friends were all raving about it, I see it all over my feed. With high expectations, it turned about to be just an okay movie.
The starting part was cute naman it contained some immature arguments, which some I could also see myself doing during my bad days. However I think their breakup was too fast over a petty fight.
Fast forward when Ben came from New York to visit PH, there was a part where his current girlfriend told him to take more time in spending time with Jen, his ex-girlfriend. I thought that part was ridiculous! Who tells their boyfriend to spend more time with his ex?? Lol.
Anyway on the good side, Alessandra and Paolo have superb acting, natural, emotion provoking, and no awkward moments with their performance.
If you're a fan of Pinoy cinema, you can go ahead and watch since this is better than most Pinoy movies. But if you're not a fan of Pinoy cinema, this movie is not something you will remember. It's just okay.

This is one of the best Filipino movie that I have watched. Outstanding acting from the main actor and actress. This will be one of the movie that I will remember for long time. To be honest, I watched several TV Series and movies of the Filipino which gave me a disappointment but this movie is different. Hope you guys watch this film with the love ones. I highly recommend this movie!

Execution is bad, really bad why? Director and storyboard seems that they didnt knew what they were doing
The movie is full of yara yara back and fourth they dont even know what a buildup is. They straight to your face slaps something straight out of nowhere,
First of half of the movie is really annoying and if executed properly would make the "hey b0ss i have cancer" part better.
So Yea, I cant express my frustrations much more. Movie has execution issues, ending is meh it could better if writing is better and I almost forgot that Aurora Borealis part was hilarious the editing looks godawful Lmao

I thought Paolo and Alessandra's team up was going to be odd. But it did worked. I was drawn by tmhow they portrayed their characters. Not sure why but our, my wife and I, gussed the plot from the start even without reading any reviews or descriptions. Seeing Paolo Contis' other side, from Comedy to Drama. His crying looked so genuine and made me cry too. It is definitely a movie to watch.
I don't get the hype.

"Through Night and Day" is a love story with a very predictable ending. The movie was well made and had good shots of Iceland but the plot and script didn't do it for me and were way too shallow. At just 1 hour and 40 mins, i still felt kinda bored and just started using my phone but i still predicted what would happen. Netflix's recent local releases: "Untrue" and "Sunod" are better than this.
Lousy writing ruined this otherwise picturesque movie

Paolo Contis ( Ben) and Alexandra de Rossi ( Jen) are childhood sweethearts and Ben just proposed to Jen before embarking on a dream trip to Iceland. At the end of the trip, Ben realized he does not like Jen enough to marry her. Although sometimes annoying, I didn't find Jen's nuances intolerable at all, people ( OK , girls) are just like that sometimes ( not wanting to go on a hike, being crazy in the car, etc) . But here is Ben backing out of his proposal, flying to the USA and not communicating at all even if they had a decade of relationship.
Fast forward to present when Ben comes home and finds out Jen got sick and cried about it. Why didn't you tell me? He asks Jen's dad ( Joey Marquez), to which he replies, " because she didn't want to tell you". In this day and age of social media, don't they have friends or relatives that could have told Ben?
I feel that the actors are trapped to the lousy writing, just an excuse to go to Iceland and film the attractions, never mind if the story does not makes sense. There are fun moments in the first part of the movie thanks to Paolo's comic timing but that's it.

This is a movie that was born out of a high schooler's mind. The story is so predictable and cliche that even the twist is to be expected you'll just wait for it to happen.
We all know that Alex is a great and versatile actress but, her role in this one just doesn't stick. Her character is plainly annoying. The only redeeming factor about this movie is Paolo Contis and Joey Marquez's acting.

This movies makes me want to scoop my eyes out with a spoon and cut my ears with garden shears. It's like badly made tourism video about Iceland but with awkward acting and puns. Their chemistry were like dodo birds, non-existent. I wonder if it's okay to ask Meralco for a refund for the electricity which was consumed when this movie was played?? ????
