Finding Their Inner Brady
kenbingham14 September 2019
Having visited the Brady Bunch home in 2015 and growing up with the Bradys this has been one emotional ride and its great to see the Brady kids now seeming to come to terms with their Bradyness. It looks like they are having the time of their lives and bonding like never before.

Superb Special Deserving of its Positive Ratings

Warning: Spoilers
I am a younger individual; one of a far younger audience than that of the original "Brady Bunch." I do, however, know many individuals who eagerly consumed the original series all those years ago; through such senior acquaintances, I have developed a healthy appreciation for the much-beloved show - from such, my interest for this HGTV series similarly formed.

Watching this series, I feel a sort of undeserved nostalgia. How, exactly, does one feel nostalgic for that which they were never privy to? to that which they never quite experienced? I don't claim to be an expert on such matters, but, regardless, I can attest to the presence of the aforementioned longing. The delight at observing the '70s-era stylings and culturally relevant features existing within this time delighted me, and seeing actors and actresses so influential in television furthered my satisfaction.

The traditional HGTV elements were also there: from many of the favorite hosts being present to the structured renovation format. I have lived with this style of production for many years, so it's certainly not a novel concept to me, but it is pleasantly familiar, so I have no complaints.

Yes, the show panders to the nostalgia felt by many for the comforting family dynamics and groovy stylings of '70s-era America, but, to me, this was done quite well, and the effect was ultimately beneficial for both the audience and the studio.

In conclusion, I enjoyed this series, and recommend it highly to both fans of the original "Brady Bunch" and you those of HGTV renovation shows of the last decade. Please, do not let the battles betwixt generations cloud your ability to appreciate past times and crucial family dynamics exemplified by the Brady Bunch and perhaps glorified by this HGTV production, it can potentially prevent you from enjoying a great series, and the amazing show that led to it.

Loved The Brady Bunch. But, This Show Is About as Exciting as Watching Paint Dry!
collectorofsorts17 September 2019
I was all excited when I first heard about this. HGTV had paid double the asking price for the old 'Brady Home' and was going to let their designers and the Brady children (now grown) remodel it to its TV stage scene appearance. Then the first episode dropped and it was okay. But, it just went on and on and on. I recorded it because I was out when it came on. When I watched it, after what seemed like hours, I clicked the runtime button and I had only watched 50 minutes so far. It's just so boring and I don't even understand why. I grew up watching the Brady's and I love the renovation shows. Somehow, putting them together just doesn't work. I'll still watch it because I'm a big fan. But it's not an easy show to watch. I watched about 2 hours of the 2nd episode last night (well, it seemed like 2 hours). I enjoyed seeing the former stars do everyday stuff but it just dragged on and on. I nearly fell asleep halfway through. This is strictly a show for the fans. I wouldn't still be watching it if hadn't been one of my favorite shows growing up. I watched the 3rd episode last night. I have to admit that this one seemed faster paced and more interesting. I'm upping my rating 1-Star because of that.

Will this wrap on Sept 23rd? Too much time spent on recapping what was already said..like "This is going to be a very big Project"...
