I must admit, I was surprised to how good this episode was. It is a simple premise of a childhood joy, not touching the ground that isn't shadows. It works surprisingly well, from the music which has a magical feel to it, to the characters having some drama between each other. Children should be able to learn from this episode for the importance of rules, but all ages should be able to like this episode. This was a surprising episode in how high it ranked, to the point that I am surprised I gave it a 9/10 (it being this low because it is somewhat forgettable), and I must say that this episode is a definite must watch for all persons watching this show.

Beautiful animation of a classic game

Shadowlands is a great game to play and this sketch immortalises it with a little lesson for the character Coco.
I love the visual storytelling using the various shadow formations. It looks so authentic and is edited superbly with the music. It allows Bluey and Snickers to get their point across in an effective way to Coco whilst being easy on the eye and entertaining at the same time. It is the first episode that focusses on pure child play without a lead contribution from adult character nor the full Heeler family present and adds a nice variety to the series.
I recall playing games where I could only walk in shaded areas when I was a child and, as a forty-something Dad, it always makes my walk home from the park with my daughters more fun (particularly if you apply the rules as strictly as Bluey).
The real strength of this episode is that it makes you want to go outside and pay Shadowlands immediately, whether you are with a child or not.
It's an 8.5/10 for me but I round upwards.

After watching the first four episodes, I stopped watching for a long time. Or rather, I gave up watching. Maybe the short episodes were kept short so that the children wouldn't get bored. But I don't think it does much for an adult. And I can't believe that this episode got an 8.8. In total, this cartoon series is the 16th best series of all time. That's pretty amazing. It's not possible for this animated series to be sixteenth among all the productions that have been made with so much effort. Yes, it can be educational for children. It can be fun to spend six minutes trying not to drop a balloon. But does it really deserve to be the sixteenth production of all time? I think no.
