Characters are more defined now, and many more motivations are shown. But yet, the confusing (as simil non-chonological) development is a thing I cant get over with. It really tricks me into getting distracted. But essentially, it did became better after the pilot, and Im sure I will be very hooked up in a few more episodes.

Dragging but getting there

Warning: Spoilers
First off, this show is based on the book, which was rather crazy, but isn't the book. Based on the second episode, they're taking their time. And the show feels like it's dragging because those who've read the book are looking forward to a certain scene centering around a house and gas station happening. The show feels off-kilter to me, and it's hard to put my finger on it. Though I think it's because the book felt off-kilter as well.
New England Done Right!

This isn't so much a review as a statement.
Coming from MA, not too far from Haverhill, it is refreshing to see actors speaking in the true dialect of the region, and not trying to sound like Kennedy's! Too often shows set in MA have the actors go over the top assuming everyone sounds like one of the Kennedy brothers. They all came from Hyannnis, and while in MA, it is a different dialect entirely.
In this show, people talk like people I knew in MA. It is a subtle dialect, dropping the "r's" and stretching the "a's", but not so dramatically as the Hyannis Port folks do. Very much like the dialect in NYC differs from Long Island.
Great job so far. Look forward to more!
