Entertaining Old School couples romance from a pair of talented auteurs
lor_8 September 2018
With Melissa Monet scripting and Skye Blue directing, I was prepared for quality from A & E's "Double Booked", and they deliver the goods.

Chloe Couture (before abandoning her stage name in favor of Cherry) stars as a haplessly ditzy heroine, who can't seem to get anything right in handling the management of a Guest Lodge (sort of a pre-airbnb) operation for her brother Chad White. The results of her title messing up is the jumping off point for standard romantic comedy, well-executed by a talented cast.

Even Lucas Frost as her love interest is not his usual wooden self, perhaps responding well to Skye's direction. Melissa's clever screenplay makes the most of the situation, and the film benefits immensely from location footage in snowy, wintry surroundings, not the usual stuff from the Chatsworth assembly line.

In the supporting cast, veteran Misty Stone is nice to see gian, while Chloe Amour and Zoe Parker both make a solid impression, opposite the usual Central Porn casting set of studs. A pleasant diversion makes this one of the better A & E releases of late.
