Ping pong

A difficult episode to judge this one.

Yes, entertaining and some good humour.

No controversial PC relationships but there were no ethnic characters despite it being set in a care home which would usually have several foreign staff, working long and awkward hours for little pay and no rewards.

The murder story has the usual twists and turns but this time it isn't John with the hunch.

The bate between John and Saskia continues and Paul and Jasper join them for a funny table tennis scene.

Let's retire Saskia
Pegasus-107 June 2021
The narrative of this entry is nothing unusual for the series, with a little more backstory of Jasper's life. At least it's not as unbelievable as when he was in prison (really?) Main problem with this and previous episode is Saskia going off the rails, especially in meetings where Paul should just fire her for unprofessional behavior. I was waiting for John to ask for a transfer to avoid these childish outbursts of hers. Screaming and throwing things in the office would usually be a one-way ticket to HR.

Let's Retire Paul

I agree with the reviewer who wrote,"Let's retire Saskia." Although, the better option would be to retire Paul . . .Paul Piedfort, that is.

It's painfully obvious the screenwriter is stuck in a box. Having had a mild success in the previous seasons with the (childish) Annalies vs Daan paradigm, Piedfort is attempting to raise Lazarus from the dead by portraying Saskia as far more immature than any real life police officer could ever be.

It's a straight (Annalies vs Daan) = (Saskia vs John) cut and paste job. There's NO way anyone acting like Saskia did in this episode could maintain their rank on a police force. BTW: Throwing food is something elementary school or drunk college students do. That one scene broke the suspension of disbelief for the remainder of the episode.

Which is shameful. Because the underlying murder plot was an interesting story with a moral message.
