What They Saw in Southie High

This is still Kevin Bacon's show as Jackie Rohr dominates. Although in this episode Jimmy thinks he has the clap and goes to see a specialist at a free clinic. Unfortunately they phone his mother in law and tell her that Jackie has the all clear.

The mother in law hates Jackie and tells him the results were positive. It is a case of playing mind games. Bad news for Jackie's wife, she is feeling frisky but Jackie knows he cannot have sex with his wife.

As for Decourcy, as a prosecutor. Cops do not like him because he wanted bad cops prosecuted. A church shooting incident leaves him with a feeling that some in his own black community do not like him as well.

With Jackie Rohr though, Decourcy seems to appreciate his knowledge and experience. I sense that the relationship between the two men is that of the novice Kevin Costner and the more vintage Sean Connery in The Untouchables.

As for the investigation regarding the armoured car robbery. Jackie gets an important tip from his snitch Jimmy, it cost him a bit of money.

It might not be long before the bad guys start to feel the pressure. So far this show is simmering along nicely.

Episode 102

If this show is going to survive it needs to introduce and embrace the supporting cast. The problem is that we saw here that a lot of the characters are not that interesting and a bad Boston accent is not enough to change that.
