Punchy and funny short
bob the moo25 August 2020
A man sits at home drinking, pondering a rose petal which he has found in his bed, despite him being away from home over the last few days. As he drinks, his girlfriend comes home.

This is a nice tight 6-7 minute short that has a simple scenario but escalates it well, and delivers a nicely sleezy conclusion too. There is not too much depth to it, but it is well performed throughout and has good pacing to the delivery. The dark tone works well, and the characters are convincing - the guy in particular just about stays on the right side of the line so that he don't actively hate him or blame him for anything, but certainly we don't like him as a person. The girlfriend also comes over well, Wheaton's delivery is spot on. The edit makes the pace and keeps it moving well, and the conclusion is good. Effective dark comedy.

a rose petal

A couple. A crisis of trust. An accident. Her confession . And a sort of acceptance. A bizarre to creepy short drama but well crafted and, in few senses, just beautiful. A film about fall of sentimental relation, jealousy and acceptance of tough truth. So, a rose petal. As seed of a moment of truth.
