Some People Can't Handle Criticism Of Their Favorite Show
jeremycrimsonfox16 June 2022
Seeing the negative reviews for this series, I had to do my own as I facepalmed about it. Yes, while Saved by The Bell is one of the most remembered shows from the 90's kids, however, when we, as adults, look back at the classic shows we saw as kids, we tend to find they were not as perfect as we remembered them to be.

Zach Morris Is Trash, a series that aired on Funny or Die (which is a channel that specializes in comedy skits), is one of those times, as it shows how not so well the show has aged, as it analyzes the actions Zach Morris, who is the main protagonist of the series, does in certain episodes. Yeah, Zach does learn his lesson, but let's face it, if we did such things as kids, we'd be punished with way worse than detention, as real life is not like a colorful, hip teen sitcom. It does a good job breaking down how horrible Zach's plots really are, and even though he does a lesson after each scheme goes bad, it shows what kind of a person he is (as he continues to do such schemes even after one fails), making me wonder what he said to get elected as governor of California in the 2020 sequel series (yes, I am calling it a sequel series since it has the original cast as adults, not a reboot that recasts the characters). This series is actually an example of how the characters we liked in show as kids can be seen as manipulative jerks when we rewatch said show as adults, which is the aim of this series (which is actually done for comedy. I mean, what did you expect from a series from a YouTube channel called Funny or Die?)

We Never Knew

To everyone that originally watched this show in the late 80s into early the 90s, we grew up thinking that we had to be a Zack Morris. If it was going into middle school, we had to be like Zack. If it was high school? Then we better be like Zack or at least Slater. As much as I loved this show, it pretty much said that we were only a success if we could be like Zack... enter "Zack Morris is Trash". For the first time, especially for Millennials, we have someone breaking down the false facades we had constructed of what it was to be a successful teenage adolescent. This show is on point in showcasing and pointing out the horrible things that our favorite teenage protagonist actually did. At the end of the day, Zack was a slimeball. I know that 1989-1993 were different times... but damn. Talk about something that doesn't age well lol. Zack's shenanigans and how he treats supposed friends isn't all that fun after a decade or two of self reflection.

Great, as it saves you from having to spend a half an hour watching each episode!

Each time an episode of "Zack Morris is Trash" is posted on YouTube, my family gets excited. After all, the show is clever and short....and a nice little pick me up.

The show consists of a severely edited episode of "Saved By the Bell" during which the character Zack Morris behaves like a total sociopath. Along with the clips you have some insightful and funny narration.

The best part about this show is that it saves you from having to watch "Saved By the Bell"....and instead you can see a briefer one with great commentary. Very enjoyable and well worth seeing.

Haters gonna hate

There's no denying Zack's questionable behavior. However, the thing that made people love this show, and especially Zack, was showing how he learn how to do the right thing in the end. This take on the lead character is petty and ridiculous, as it leaves out the important parts (that happen every show) where you see Zack redeem himself. I'd advise to not make the mistake this filmmaker did and waste your time. Instead, just watch an actual episode and judge for yourself. Go Bayside!

Welcome to 2020 where everything from a past era is looked at through 'woke' snowflake eyes. Pathetic.
