This was my favorite Undercover Boss episode. It was fun seeing Ms. Douglas' transformation from a fit gymnast to a middle-aged aspiring gym owner with a hip problem. I was genuinely moved by her passion for helping young gymnasts realize their full potential. I also appreciated seeing the enormous sacrifices that the parents and gym owners made to help the children pursue their dreams. I salute the two African American gym owners featured in the episode for teaching their young athletes important lessons about life, perseverance, and dedication through gymnastics.
Without giving away the details, I must say that I was appalled by the toilet cleaning incident. I don't know if that incident was staged; however, many African American viewers will immediately relate to the experience of being asked to do something that probably would not have been expected of a similarly-situated white person. Incidents like this are rarely caught on-camera.
