The final part of this documentary series saw Queen Victoria still trying to dominate the lives of her children.

This means fixing who they married and how they lived with their spouses.

The constraints she imposed caused tensions between Victoria and her children who felt they could never break away from her.

The heir to the throne Bertie continued to have affairs. Victoria doubted whether he could ever be king. However Bertie showed his suitability by having a successful tour of India.

Her sickly child Leopold, also managed to get married and have a child but he did eventually succumb to his ailments.

Victoria's daughters had mixed fortunes. Princess Louise had a loveless marriage with her husband and she had a long term affair with her sculptor teacher.

By the end of her life Victoria's children were concerned with her closeness to the servant from India, Abdul who became her munshi.

It was another speedneck episode, rather facile and gave little that was new. I think the talking heads gave their bit sized expertise knowing that they their substantial authority would be better served on the higher brow channels.
