Tango Gameworks, the studio behind The Evil Within series, is working on a new game called Ghostwire Tokyo.
Ghostwire Tokyo is the new game from Tango Gameworks, the studio led by Resident Evil veteran Shinji Mikami which previously created The Evil Within series. At E3 2019, Mikami described the stylish and eerie Ghostwire Tokyo, which takes place in the aftermath of a Rapture-like event, as an action-adventure game in which you will fight paranormal enemies and rid the city of a supernatural evil."
Ikumi Nakamura, creative director at Tango Gameworks, explained that players will "encounter conspiracies and the occult. You have to explore the world, face challenges."
“We are making a new kind of action-adventure game,” Nakamura said. “It’s spooky! But not the usual kind of survival horror game Tango is known for.”

For six long years, BioShock fans have been left hanging on tenterhooks awaiting even the smallest morsel of information regarding a sequel.
In 2013, Irrational Games released BioShock Infinite to near-universal acclaim, continuing the series’ hattrick of success stories beginning with the original title more than a decade ago. Despite trading the undersea dystopian Rapture for the sky-scraping city of Columbia, Ken Levine and the rest of the development team had all but secured the series’ future. At least, that’s what we all thought. Though a prior report by Kotaku has since indicated that publisher Take-Two has already formed a “top-secret” studio and task force to spearhead the next installment, details on the supposed project are still frustratingly thin on the ground.
However, during its recent earnings call to investors, Take-Two Interactive shared its plans for the current fiscal year, which spans from now all the way up to March 2020. In it,...

Julian Elijah Martinez and Dave East are set as series regulars and The Sopranos alum Vinnie Pastore will recur in Hulu’s Wu-Tang: An American Saga, a 10-episode drama from Wu-Tang Clan frontman The RZA, writer Alex Tse (Superfly) and Imagine Television. In addition, Craig Zisk will direct two episodes of the series and co-executive produce.
Created and written by The RZA and Tse, the series is based on the Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential groups in hip-hop history, and will explore and expand the band’s world.
Set in early ’90s New York at the height of the crack cocaine epidemic, the show tracks the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs (Ashton Sanders) aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.
Martinez will portray Divine.

During his appearance on Rolling Stone Music Now, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott – whose band will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in March – took a listen to Drake’s “God’s Plan,” the biggest song of 2018. Elliott has broad musical tastes, but wasn’t crazy about what he heard:
Any thoughts?
Where’s the hook? Where’s the hook, dude? You know what it reminds me of, it reminds me of an updated version of Richie Havens or something like that. But Richie would sit on a stool,...

"If you come from that ghetto, all you got is a dream." Showtime has unveiled a trailer for a documentary film titled American Dream / American Knightmare, which will be premiering on the streaming TV service later this month. The film delves deep into the life and storied exploits of iconic Death Row Records co-founder Marion "Suge" Knight Jr., as well as the volatile and highly influential era in gangsta rap he presided over. It's said to be an inside look, with actual stories from Suge himself, about the rise and fall of Death Row Records, and what's next for the future of rap and hip hip. There have been a great number of docs recently on the rap music scene, and its history, mostly found on Netflix or other TV channels in addition to festivals. This looks comprehensive and honest. Such is the success of Marvel Studios that the release of the second trailer for Captain Marvel on Monday evening feels, somehow, as if it's a consolation prize for a fandom that has for months now been waiting for another trailer altogether: the first glimpse at next year's still-untitled follow-up to Avengers: Infinity War.
For those paying attention on social media, the release date of the trailer for what we've all agreed to call Avengers 4 for now has been a saga of rumors, anticipatory excitement and subsequent unmet deadlines to rival even the most fervent Rapture narrative. If all ...

CBS All Access celebrated Halloween by turning classic fairy tales into straight-up horror stories.
The streaming service on Wednesday debuted Tell Me a Story, a drama series from The Vampire Diaries Ep Kevin Williamson (and starring a few alumni from Williamson’s past projects, like Tvd vet Paul Wesley).
Though future episodes will drop on Thursdays, Tell Me a Story‘s series premiere was appropriately released on the spookiest day of the year, and it introduced a gaggle of characters who got caught up in Williamson’s take on beloved fairy tales. Nigerian singer-songwriter Kah-Lo has had success with conversational club music, but she understands why listeners tend to lump her songs in with afrobeats: That minimal, swaying, polyrhythmic strain of pop that’s become an “explosive industry” in her country and hit the charts in London, Paris and elsewhere. “It is great for the people who are making afrobeats,” she says. “But there are other genres that other people are making, and they’re not being given as much of a platform. I’m hoping to change that narrative.”

Patrick Somerville knows about expanding the edge of the TV frontier. The novelist and screenwriter wrote for HBO’s The Leftovers, which began by exploring the aftermath of a Rapture-like event and soon evolved into a multi-faceted meditation on relationships and human nature.
Similar to that show, Maniac (whose 10-episode debut season is now on Netflix) is about much more than it initially seems. Based on — but very different from — a Norwegian series by the same name, it depicts an alternate reality set in a close replica of present-day New York City. It details experimental drug trials whose down-on-their-luck participants include the show’s lead characters, Owen and Annie, played by Jonah Hill and Emma Stone. In establishing the drug-trial framework, the show brandishes plenty of Brazil-meets-Michel Gondry absurdist flourishes: An animatronic koala bear plays chess in the park against a human opponent, and imaginary services such as...

The world of Bioshock combines complex thought-provoking concepts with high octane action. As stunning and fascinating as the cities of Rapture and Columbia are, both are crawling with highly hostile and deadly enemies. The enemies that we encounter in Bioshock are all uniquely terrifying and are just as complex as the ideas explored in the plots. Take a look at some of our favourite enemies from the Bioshock trilogy.
5. The Handyman
Once a man, the robotic monstrosity known as The Handyman is a powerful enemy that you encounter in Bioshock Infinite. Taking the form of a heavily armoured man with giant mechanical limbs, the Handyman was created as a way to help men who were severely injured. The experiment allowed its subjects to not only once again become able-bodied but to also technically live forever.
Despite being given a second shot at life, many Handymen are miserable. Some have been...

Continuing my look at storytelling in gaming, I’m taking a look at what I feel are the best plot twists in games and why I think they work so well.
One of the biggest storytelling devices in any medium is the “plot twist” where the script gets flipped and everything you thought you knew is turned on its head. Video games are no different. While there are plenty of plot twists that don’t work, or leave you rolling your eyes, some manage to stick with you years later and keep you talking.
There are so many to choose from in this list, so inevitably I’ll end up leaving some off other would have included. Regardless, though, I feel the ones listed below (in no particular order) are the most memorable.

Jamie Patricof’s Hunting Lane has signed a first-look deal with Universal Cable Productions. Under the pact, Hunting Lane will develop scripted programming with Ucp for the the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment portfolio, as well as for external networks and streaming services, beginning with White Tears, a limited drama series based on Hari Kunzru’s critically praised novel, with Steven Caple Jr. (Creed 2) attached to direct.
White Tears is a ghost story, a terrifying murder mystery, a timely meditation on race, and a love letter to all the forgotten geniuses of American music and Delta Mississippi Blues. When Brooklyn hipsters, Seth and Carter discover a rare blues recording, they naively tumble into a thrilling investigation of race and cultural appropriation in society today. The book was published by Penguin Random House in March 2017.

It’s not really a secret around these parts that I have a deep-rooted affection for Seth MacFarlane’s animated shows, and while I have been a Family Guy fan for nearly two decades now, over the last few years, it's American Dad that has emerged as my favorite series, as it consistently delivers the funnies and never fails to put a smile on my face.
And, like many other genre fans out there, whenever something I enjoy from mainstream pop culture makes any kind of reference to horror or the dark side of entertainment, I can’t help but get a little bit giddy. So, with that in mind, I went through all 13 seasons of American Dad and compiled a great list of 14 episodes that indulge the series’ darker side and deliver some great entertainment that I feel horror fans will truly appreciate.

No TV conversation is complete anymore without the Netflix behemoth, as the service adds entire seasons to its never-ending pile on a weekly basis. While recently putting together a roundup of every TV review IndieWire has published in 2018, we came to the realization that it would probably take a lifetime to get through all the shows released in this calendar year alone.
Netflix has said it will spend upwards of $8 billion annually in programming costs. Granted, some of that goes to acquisition of previously produced content — but CFO David Wells has said Netflix will produce as much as 700 originals worldwide this year. That’s a lot of TV.
In 2017, Netflix ended the year by reporting that users watched more than 140 million hours of content per day, or 1 billion hours per week. But that’s a collective stat. To put a solid number on how much of our lives Netflix has been vying for,...

For a movie that’s due out in December, there’s still much we don’t know about Warner’s standalone Aquaman film.
Sure, it heralds the return of Jason Momoa’s Atlantean – his first screen appearance since Justice League, no less – while James Wan has assembled an A-list cast comprised of Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson and many, many more.
It’s an origin story, too, meaning we can expect a deep dive into the wonderful world of Atlantis, the underwater utopia that would outshine even Rapture in its heyday. Word is Aquaman has been testing pretty well, while the Dceu spinoff recently received a big reception at CinemaCon in Las Vegas – superlatives like “epic” and “fun” were littered across the social media landscape – and now, Jason Momoa himself has turned in some brand new story intel by way of Entertainment Tonight.

Instead, the game's art direction takes on a more cartooney direction, with warlocks, skeletal warriors, and ogres. Instead of using Adam to power up, City of Brass utilizes magic to blast through hoards of enemies.

If “Rapture,” the latest Netflix documentary series, proves anything, it’s that no two people in the world of hip-hop are alike. As much as the industry around them may chase what works trying to replicate that success, or as much as a consolidated business makes individuality more and more difficult, the more distinct artists still make for the most compelling figures. Getting help from observant sets of eyes, “Rapture” is an attempt to show what a group of eight creators each bring to the world of music.
By natural personality or careful choices in the public eye, rappers like T.I., Logic, 2 Chainz, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, G-Eazy, and producers like Just Blaze have reached the point where they’ve each cultivated an image.
