Back for a 4th season. The Drop In [Dirtbag] Crew descends on the land of hobbits for a 2 ½ month tour circumnavigating both islands in search of epic Freeride mountain bike locations.
The solid Canadian crew welcomes Nathan Greenwood the lone Kiwi rider who will join the Drop In Crew for the duration of the tour. He's just in time for some big mountain descents and an Epic naturally formed Freeride mecca.
The crew stopped briefly in Alex. to check out a few local spots but moved on due to snow at higher elevations and greener pastures ahead in Queenstown. Highlights include the first of three heli drops, and a mini Dreamtrack session.
It was the stuff the crew came to NZ for. Emergency rooms of the world prepare - there will be a steady flow of 38yr. olds thinking they can huck like Randy Spangler. Also, more fun in Q-Town with "Extreme Day" .
The Drama unfolds with the "Drop In Days Of Our Lives" and some crew members are noticeably sick of each other. Despite the drama and horrible weather some great riding was had.
Mike Kinrade from the season 1 crew joins up with the NZ Drop In crew. The crew take the riders to the cleaners at paintball and amazing trials riding from Shawn Denny make this a great episode.
The Drop In crew infiltrates the home of World Cup Racer Justin Leov and with the help of Justin's crazy Dad Greg the crew transform their farm into a Freeride Playground.
The Drop In Crew made it through the first half of the tour and now Steve Romaniuk and Dylan Tremblay join them. Overheard - "Here I am today upside down, on the other side of the world shredding the raddest trails ever!"
New Zealand hospitality - Take my land and use a track hoe to create another Dreamtrack. That's what happened. The free riders were flying high and the street riders were killing it at the marina.
Despite a few gems the trails are getting thinner as the Drop In Crew move north up the North Island. Fitting since Jared Jespersen from season 2 has just arrived to throw some street sketchiness and antics into the mix.
The city of Volcanic gas that the Dirtbags barely noticed over the smell of themselves. Steve got to ride a local trail with two World Cup racers who show him speed bordering out of control. Nathan gets more bitter as the tour progresses.
This could be another first-ever done on Drop In. The first heli-drop Mountain Bike descent of a Volcano. It wouldn't be a season of Drop In if Steve didn't hit an insanely big Road Gap. The highlight though, Jared finally catches a sheep.
All of the best and worst during the 75 day Freeride Mountain Bike tour around both islands of New Zealand. Don't miss this action packed Best-Of. Especially the crash section.
