Not bad, great acting!

Warning: Spoilers
I thought it was very well done. I'm sure theres alot more to going into a film then we realize.i was kind of let down in the end. What did she do with her life? Would have been nice to see her in a big movie after all that. Nice to see who replaced the main actors lol. I'm sure we will see more from these talented peeps. It's not something i would watch again but definitely enjoyed the show. I love how she kept cursing them 👍😂.

Fun Salem horror
BandSAboutMovies12 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Directors Arielle Cimino and Jeff Ryan, working from a script by Jonathan T. Coleman and Christopher O'Connell, have put together an interesting story: Paige [Geena Santiago, who was in the movie YouthMin from the same creative team) is an actress playing one last role in her hometown of Salem. It's in a local historical play about the Salem Witch Trials and the only audience is made up of drunk tourists.

During one of the re-enactments, a man dies and the crowd believes that Paige has cursed them. Holy man Samuel Hall (Matt Perusse) gets the crowd enraged and ready to enact their own modern witch trial as our heroine goes on the run.

I loved how this movie takes the, well, mass hysteria that we've been living under the past several years and puts it into the context of a horror movie. Everything here - well, maybe not the curse - feels like it could happen. One example is when Paige tries to stop the growing unrest with a Facebook post that makes things get exponentially worse.

Best of all, it's a quick and quirky sixty-six minutes. It doesn't have a big budget yet the cast tries hard and the story - which is the important part when you think about it - is well-told.

Sad actually...
suprchunk22 July 2021
This is really quite sad. It looks put together by a dramaa club over the pandemic. The lead is almost unbelievable as a human, she is awkward and doesn't seem like she even wants to try to act. The others aren't bad, but a little over the top and stagey. This seems like they did this play and thought it would be cool to pick up a couple cell phones and make it into a movie. There are few funny parts though, the "stoner" has some good lines and delivers them best of the bunch. I really can't believe I sat through the whole thing, and find it strange the other reviews are so glowing.

The only movie I've ever rated as a '1'
I read the reviews prior to watching this short flick and between them and overall rating >5, I thought I was in for a fun 60 minutes. Suffice it to say, I was wrong. If you look at my history, I have watched thousands of movies, written hundreds of reviews, and rated countless films. Most of the time I can find at least one small facet of a film, no matter how unenjoyable, that prevents me from rating it a '1.' That was not the case here.

This was terrible. The acting was bad, the special effects were non-existent (and by that, I truly mean non-existent...as in, they were not needed, as there was nothing even remotely catalogued as blood in the film, except when some folks vomited). There is no real scenery, as they used existing stores and buildings; there was no music other than some pre-packaged Halloween sounds; costumes? What costumes?

After watching, I re-read the reviews and not a single one (except the one "poor" review) held any truth about the film. I don't even mean subjective opinions, but the things people mentioned in reviews didn't even happen in the film. In other words, the majority of reviews are fake.

Truly a first for me. A movie without a single shred of positive opinion from me. And I consider myself a rather forgiving viewer. This was the first film I've rated a 1. Don't say you weren't warned.

A review from someone who did not have anything to do with the movie.

Well done! Quite a little surprise I found on Shudder today. Nicely acted by all involved, nice camerawork and lighting, well paced and just enough gore and humor to satisfy a one hour watch. Looking forwards to the directors next movie.

Better than a lot of "horror" movies out there.

Adore the lead. Performances are solid and it swings above its budget.

It is definitely worth checking out if you enjoy the horror comedy genre. It's no Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz but those are high bars to make it over and unfair comparisons.

Well, what can I say... I made this movie with some of my very best friends in the whole world and I am very proud of what we accomplished. I am so excited to see it released and I hope anyone reading this review gives it a watch--every rental, purchase, view and review makes a big difference to us indie filmmakers! Thanks in advance for the being apart of the Mass Hysteria Family! Hope you enjoy the film... Happy Halloween!

Thank you Shudder

I watched this short film on a day were I was just working around the house. I wanted something short to watch at lunch. The movie is absurd and funny. A well done low budget but not amateurish production from a crew that cared about what they were making.

A great movie with just the right amount of spooky and funny, which is perfect for good ol' Halloween fun. Love that it was filmed in and around Salem!
