Cliché

Unlike the others, I didn't think the acting was bad. The movie had some great shots and the ambience felt like a horror movie to me.

But the script was bad. Never read the book so I don't know how accurate the movie is compared to the original, but damn, the girls made every bad decision you could possibly make in this scenario. Even in the thriller/horror universe!

It could have been a better movie if they explored Kim's character arc more. Now she went from being mousy to psycho with Dissociative Identity Disorder instantly. That would have been an interesting story. Missed opportunity.

So boring

I was in the cinema's with my 14 year old daughter. Even she knew that the bad man was not realy a bad man, and that one of the girls did do it. When one was out of the shots, even she knew. The twist was the badest twist ever !

Starts out great, finished poorly

The first half is exciting and indeed very intriguing with some great shots.

But then in the second half the "plot" goes completely south.

One girl becomes completely useless, one went insane and takes more damage than all of the avengers combined and is still holding up fighting.

The end then is really bad, all the attempted murder is shrugged off and suddenly the murderer becomes somehow the hero due to some events in the past.

Could have been a good movie...

It just doesn't make any sense!

Low budget, try-hard and overall just bad thriller for girls, with no motives and a terribly thought out plot, that also takes itself much too seriously. The characters have no reasons for doing what they do, and if they did, it wasn't shown in the movie. The characters make choices that no person in their right mind would make in such situations. It's just really bad.

A missed oppertunity. The movie isn't great: bad story line, bad acting, bad script, plot twist that isn't a plot twist at all. Overall just a movie that isn't worth your time.

They should have explored the claustrophobia and Kim being locked up in that cellar more, and the fact she did all those things without remembering them didnt make a lot of sense. They could have cut a few scenes and exploded that story line more.

Even for a teen girl movie it is a bad movie

The scenery is great, but only so many shot take advantage of that. The acting is horrible, the story is flimsy to say the least and there are so many plot holes. I wish i could get the time back i spent on watching this movie.

Friends

If you have friends like these ... but it's not just about the friends here. Although to be honest, one of the gals/girls in the movie is really almost beyond belief when it comes to bullying and intriguing. But I reckon you need one of those ... to keep the story fresh and ... well entertaining.

This is less fun for our main character, we are watching or rather experiencing the movie through her eyes. This is all I will say/reveal, because there are certain things that will be revealed later on, that I do not even want to hint at. Certain cliches will be played on and used ... but there is more where that comes from.

Not the best thriller ever made, but has some good ideas and is played rather solid by all its members. Some nudity and some violence included ... nothing too much ... if anything it is not the graphic content that will disturb you ... and that's where I'll leave that.

Extremely bad movie!

Dont even waste your time to watch it. I don't even write reviews for movies, but on this one had too. I wish i could put 0 stars! Is so boring and not scary.

First of all, the movie tries to sell itself as a thriller or a horror, it's not! It's a drama, and a very bad one. The plot is thin like a spider's web, the characters are bland and have no motive, there is no tension whatsoever because the obvious "villain" is completely non-intimidating, in fact, the only death in the movie is of a dog and it's off-screen. The only reason there is a dog in the movie is just so at least one creature dies. How pathetic is that? It's ridiculous how this movie tries so hard to be something that it's not, with silly predictable plot "twists" and boring flashbacks at the end. Most of the movie is two annoying girls disputing the love of a third girl, who stands there doing nothing most of the time. The missing girl is the 4th and only serves the purpose of going missing, and her whereabouts are "revealed" to us in quite possibly the most predictable, dumb and horribly written scene I have ever watched in my life. Seriously, I would have more respect for this movie if it abruptly ended before that scene. Also, the men in the movie are almost completely irrelevant to the story. The score of this movie is currently 5.0, which is absurd, obviously the producers came here and did their dirty job, there is even a review here that calls this movie "the best movie ever", another one says "the Netherlands' first young adult thriller". If this is true, poor Netherlands. There is still time to ban this movie and pretend it never happened.

The Netherlands first young adult thriller

I love this movie. It's the Netherlands first young adult thriller movie based on the thrilling book from Mel Wallis de Vries. Maybe it isn't scary enough for adults, but it is for teenagers. I like the actors a lot and the story ends with a great plottwist.

Almost a parody

This movie is genuinely awful. There are few words to describe this abomination. The only real way to truly understand how bad this is, is by watching it yourself. There are zero redeemable qualities. The plot is cliché, the characters are bland and predictable, the acting is stale and robotic, the scenery is unoriginal and way too dark (seriously, even outside during the day it's dark).

The only scary part in this movie is how scarily funny it is. I was laughing constantly to all the 'jumpscares' and 'plot twists'. I'm seriously considering making a video review just to share with the world how bad it is. Just take any scene from this film and add in a laugh-track and it'd be a comedy instantly.

Three stars just because Im a good guy

There's 90minutes of my life I will never get back. I am giving three starts because I'm a good person and I respect the crew's efforts. But everything in this movie is simply bad.

Nothing happens?

Literally nothing happens in this film. Except that they're all horrible friends. But there is nothing scary, other than their disregard for the dog and their horrible behaviour towards each other. Go read a book, any book. Just don't watch this non event of a film, i'm still none to wiser as to what happened or what we're meant to have learned and I made the mistake of sitting through it.

A-Z cringe

Another classic Dutch film product with bad acting, incomprehensible dialogue, bad acting, and did I mention bad acting? I don't even know why I give it 2 stars. I hoped for some good scares, but no. I hoped for any emotion, but you'll get more enjoyment watching your local postman delivering the mail. Dutch moviemakers could use some speech coaching, to at least get a minimal level of realism and credibility. Or please give us subtitles, so we can at least make out what the actors are saying. Ok, moving on.

Doesnt make any sense

The movie was entertaining, but it didnt make any sense. The boys in the movie were just so unnecesary, and that "creepy guy" was not relevant at all. We also didnt get any context of the contact "ghost" and the creepy man. The girl that just murdered a dog and hit her best friend with a bat is all forgiven after. Also the girl that made all the pictures was so badly written and didnt make any sense at all. One girl even shot the psycho but they are friends again after one single night. Horrible flashbacks that dont explain a single bit. Then they continue theyre lifes like nothing happened. Bad. And then the hero of a boyfriend shows up, without any calls he is just there. Bad movie.

Best movie ever

Very good actors and good cinematic shots, and probably much time and work to make this movie! Everyone give this movie a shot.
