Best of the season so far

A stand-alone story of sorts as we examine the history of Vandal Savage. Unlike the comics where Savage must eat his children to survive, here is a new twist on his mythology. As he had lived many lives and sired many children, he has learned not to kill anyone if their lives can serve a useful purpose.

This is true of his daughter Cassandra who on one hand fears her father, but on the other, wants to be a proud part of his legacy. Juxtaposed with the training of three new heroes: Geo-Force, Halo and Forager, this single episode stands apart as a character study of the Immortal Villain.

Well done. And hope there will be more like this.

Best origin story for Savage

We don't get to see Vandal Savage much in this show, but when he finally appeared they gave him an amazing origin story. I am impressed and I want to see more of him in the future.

Best episode of the season

Warning: Spoilers
What a huge challenge to have to overcome an episode like this! What good times we are living the fans of the superheroic genre! This cartoon, in its third season, never ceases to amaze us, and this chapter is the best example of that: an episode where the narrative is carried by the villain, nothing more and nothing less than Vandal Savage. Connect the origin of the character with the problem he has to face, presenting him as a Savior of our planet, and telling us on the way his first encounter with Darkseid, while in the present he reconnects with this ally to defeat one of the classic villains of the Justice League, is a prodigy that only good writers can present. And almost like a bonus, the training of the new recruits, their new uniforms and their definitive battle names! You can not ask for more than a 22-minute episode. In a moment, for the amount of things that they told me, I thought it was a double chapter.

Standing applause.

3 episodes crammed into one

Savage's origin story combined with a standard "training the newbies" episode and a somewhat forced romance between Doctor lady and PTSD man make for a very poor paced and muddled episode. Why did they think this would be a good idea? Neither of these stories tie into one another, so why put them all in one episode? They spent the first 4 episodes of this season on one story that could have easily been 2 and then they do this?

Why DC? Why?
